What happened to it? I've had one 5 months and still going strong love mine

Good that it appears to be working.

The fact you've taken it apart could have 'reset' a dry solder joint, and blowing it out could have got rid of a lump of cack (technical term) - either of which could cause both issues.

Mechanically and electrically I like to consider myself relatively competent - but I'm totally the wrong person to ask about the reputation of tanks :D

What do you mean by "reset" a dry joint.
Throughout my 45 year engineering career I have been led to believe that the only way to fix a dry solder joint was to re solder it correctly.
Any other repair than this could at the least fail again, or at worst damage equipment / lead to a fire.

'Reset' as in wiggle it enough to break through the oxidation and sometimes make someone think they've fixed it, only to fail again (very possibly in a spectacular fashion, or just in the same way as before) after an indeterminate amount of time.

It's not a repair of a soldered joint by any stretch of the imagination. It's bloody annoying.

Resoldering is indeed the only proper fix.

I thought I'd put part of that in, but either I forgot or the draft didn't save (or something).

Edit: I've had lots of stuff where someone told me it went wrong, so they took it apart but couldn't find anything wrong, but it worked on reassembly, so they carried on using it. Then they did that 3 times in a row because each 'repair' lasted less time than the last...

I once fixed an Xbox 360 by putting it in the oven on a low heat to soften the solder and it worked a treat went on strong for another 18 months which is a better life expectancy than when they were new :14::14::14::14:

Sorry for rehashing such an old thread, but i was considering getting a reveng go cuz they r so cheap now.
I was also looking at the armour pro, which also seems to have probs.
Any thoughts on the eleaf ikuuni200 or anything else in the under $50, over 4000mah internal battery class that can be vaped while charging unlike voopoos stuff? Single 21700 is also an option.

Btw, in case anyone is wondering the putting it in the oven is actually a thing, i had car with a widespread defect in the digital clock and it turns out putting it in the oven at 350F for 10-15 min worked fore some
