What's new

VG/PG ratios dictated by the weather.

Generally there are four seasons in Poland – spring, summer, autumn and winter, although some people distinguish two additional seasons, described as early spring and early winter. Spring begins in March, bringing sunny days and, sometimes, rain and light frost, with daily temperatures ranging from 5 deg. C to 15 deg. C. The summertime can be really hot, with temperatures around 20-25. it begins in late May / June and lasts until the end of August. During the autumn the weather is often changeable – you are likely to enjoy moderately warm temperatures from September to October, while November brings rains and lower temperatures. In winter days become visibly shorter. It is cold and cloudy and brings frequent snowstorms and relatively low total precipitation. The average temperature in January is about -4'C but it can fall as low as -35'C.

Now i see why it matterd where you are!
We're at 0°C now but sunny, when we came at the end of summer it was 32°, it could easily drop here now by another 10°. I think we have more stable temperatures here by the coast than inland. I remember once visiting relatives in the south and we went on a pub crawl in - 24°. Wasn't as bad as you'd think but I didn't vape then and I imagine eliquid would be like jelly at those temperatures [emoji23][emoji23]

Ideal way of overcoming a real issue there.
I tend to give the fire button a quick nudge before tooting properly if I'm out in the cold.
A sort of preheat if you will cos a hot coil on cold juice and cotton is not a good combination.
But in the cold, it's a matter of getting the juice to the coil, no problem heating the coil up.

I always mix my own mtl liquid at 40/60 or 50/50, but any dtl I mix in winter (mostly for my friend) I’ll mix at 65/35 rather than the 70/30 I make the rest of the year. I did mix her some 75/25 one hot summer, but she whinged that the flavour ‘wasn’t right’ :25: It seems like a very reasonable thing to do in the Polish climate :5:

Yip I go from 60/40 to 55/45.... for myself an a couple of others, we are in Scotland n use old skool tanks

So I'm not alone with my thoughts on the matter [emoji16] I think with the quite wild temperature swings here, it's definitely worth changing ratios dependant on current temperatures [emoji1303]

Quite agree mate, when I was working in Bulgaria the temperatures were between +38 degrees in the summer, and - 26 degrees in winter.
It was law to change your car tyre's at certain points in the year.

So the viscosity / wicking of a coil will vary significantly over a years seasons.

You might find you have more problems over the summer, with VG melting at around 18c :D
