Hi everyone.

New to the forum, so hello everyone.

Bit of back-story. As a longtime nicotine head I have used cigarettes, pipes, swedish snus, gum and even vapes for the past 20 years or so. Last time I used a vape was about 5-6 years ago, liberty flights cig-o-likes.

I did a bit of a google on diffrent vapes, mods and the likes, boy have things come a long way in a few years.

To the question. Is the Vtube V3 the same as Lambo 6 or perhaps the vamo? Any experiences with the Vtube V3? I ordered one from Apollo and would love some input on my purchase, I just cant find any.

Here is a little explanation of my confusion. And yes I may have misunderstood a whole lot, that's why I am elaborating on my ignorance in hopes that I will be corrected.

The "Lavatube" or silver bullets. They all seem to get bunched into the same category. I cant get a clear picture of whats what. I suspect there are a few main producers like L-rider and many of the others are re-brands.

You have the original lavatube by volcano, there's the lambo by L-rider, the provari, the vamo. Those are just off the top not counting the dozens of copies, not that I can tell whats a copy of what.

As to the Vtube V3, Maybe i should do a review myself, have never owned a mod before but there seems to be no information at all about the later versions of Vtube. I really hope I didn't buy a piece of poop.

So hello everyone on the forum and please reply with any thoughts you might have.

Hello and welcome WeeZap. I'm afraid I can't help with your questions, but I'm sure someone can will be along soon!

@WeeZap, Welcome to the planet...

The Apollo Vtube V3 is a rebranded Lrider Lambo V6. If a company buys enough in one batch most makers will put their brand on the tube for them and make boxes as well sometimes...

Splendid, thx. I kind of suspected that since it looked extremely similar.

Phil Busardo did a Lambo 6 test on youtube. Apparently it was ok in general but did have some weirdness with the wattage setting.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQsSbnN8wOo

The one he tested tended to have voltage jumping. The wattage mode is supposed to control the output voltage according to Ohms. When he measured it did jumped every few clicks, 3.4v,3.4v,5v,5v,3.4v,5v.

Supposedly works correctly for a little while with a perfectly fresh battery.

Crossing fingers and hoping that wont be a problem with my vtube v3/lambo 6.

Positives, the voltage mode works just fine and the unit is not a PWM, it has a nice and pure voltage output.

Again, thanks for the confirmation.

There are all kinds of mods out there but broadly they fall into 2 categories. Regulated mods and Mechanical mods.

A Regulated mod uses electronics to provide some safety features and also regulates the supply of power to the coil.

A mechanical mod is a battery holder and a switch. The coil gets whatever the battery sends to it, good or bad.

There are several 'main producers' and L-Rider aint one of them. While they do knock out a lot of kit it's mostly at the budget end of the spectrum. I've heard mixed reviews on the Lambo v6 (of which the VTube is a rebrand)

Right now the big names in mod makers are:

ProVape (ProVari, possibly the best made VV mod out there, but pricey and now looking dated)
SmokTech (SID, a much better regulated mod than their ZMax their VV eGos are also very well made)
Innokin(SVD, MVP, VV, VTR, I34, the best mod maker around right now)
Sigelei (ZMax, really good if you get a good one, not so great if you get a Friday afternoon version)

and the Vamo (I've no idea what company makes this but it is probably the best value regulated mod going)

then after that you have L-Rider and Volcano and Young June and lots of others making up the numbers.

There's a bunch of new USA made mods as well based on the DNA20 chipset from Evolv.

Then you have lots of small 'artisan' mod makers (men in sheds) that make beautiful shiny things at very high prices.

also is anyone from apollo ecigs is reading this post.

There's a review on the Apollo v3 page about the Vtube V3 it's from 'Arthur from CO' and was posted on 26th October. It's a glowing 5stars review and apparently 9000 of 9000 people found this review helpful!

9000 of 9000! O RLY? You might want to sift through all those 9000 people and check that they are all real people.

VaperCaper- 9000 thumbs up, :D.

Posted earlier but being a new member my post apparently went into admin approval limbo because i linked to that review. But thanks.

Cant help but feel a little screwed with the rebrand, no wonder there wasn't much info to find on Vtube V3.

My suspicions are confirmed , its a lambo 6. Seems to be a decent product. Non PWM, nice and stable voltage.
Only one big problem with the Lambo 6/vtube V3, Pbusardos review points it out, Wattage mode jumps like a madman , 3.4v-5v-5v-3.4v etc etc.

So now to cross my fingers and hope mine isn't one of the wattage mode victims, probably is. Voltage mode here i come.

Shiney fever, havent even received my first mod in the mail and I`m already looking at Innokin 134 light saber and the Sigelei Zmax.

Thanks guys , clears things up immensely.

They might have sorted the issues with it, I hope it works out well for you. It is going to be a decent vape when it works as intended.

To be honest if you look purely at the quality of the vape there isn't much to separate most of the mods from each other, the biggest differences are in build quality and looks.

If it is one of the faulty units get on to the vendor straight away for a refund as the device is not fit for purpose. It might be a bit of a struggle but since it's a manufacturing fault then you should be OK

Yes, might be ok, saw a german review on it where that specific problem didn't show.

After having my question expertly clarified for me I would have gone for a Sigelei Zmax instead for pretty much the same price. Re-branding just makes me cringe for some reason.

I am pretty sure the lambo 6 with a Protank 2 mini will be a stellar step up from the first gen "cig-a-like change battery every 2h" I remember.

Next time I know what to get.

Maybe this will help someone else make the right first choice

Again, thanks a bunch
