What's new

WANTED: People for testing our new device

at 70 vg it spat in my mouth.

juts flick the device to clear it, the coil is flooded, so if you look at the instructions it'll show you how to flick it, best to do this after you prime and fill as there's always a bit of excess juice.

One thing about all this that slightly confuses me is that you can buy this device on your website in a “Secret Sale”, yet according to this thread it isn’t going to be released until the 15th of this month! Presumably when final testing is complete and all the changes have been made, are the ones available pre production models? What’s the deal here? I do understand releasing the device so any major faults can be found and tweaks made to the design before release, but it seems this one has been released already.

The devices we are testing are the effectively the launch device, bar the button mould which has been fixed to allow a bit more tolerance as that was reported in earlier testing, there are basically a few tiers of testing and batches, but in affect we are testing for a full 2 months before launch. I think there were around 800 units made up in this batch, then the batch following for actual launch arrives with any adjustments and things like accessories (mouth tips and adapter) that what will go on sale on the 15th, then we have stock for around 8 weeks while the next batch is made, this is the big batch , basically full production, and you want any issues or niggles ironed out by then, but there shouldn't be too many and any ones found should hopefully be small adjustments that can be made. That's what this testing is aimed at finding and stopping. It's basically a ramp up strategy to mitigate risks we don't foresee when devices are being used by a decent sized user base, and allows us to refine the device prior to full scale mass production, which is needed to make any profit on the deivce. We do also offer early access to existing customers if we think we have the units to do it, but it can go in and out of stock, and be a bit inconsistent, supply should be consistent from launch, and launch is basically the official date the whole business works towards.

What happens to the devices people have already bought (me included) if you find in your testing, things that need to be improved or tweaked.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Not being someone who is involved in design and manufacture of vape mods or anything else for that matter, I just wondered how it worked and your explanation has made it possible for a non manufacturer designer to partly understand the process. However like quincey43 above, I think selling the product before launch and before all testing and revisions are complete is questionable. As quince43 says what happens to his product should you decide to make a major alteration which affects its future compatability and use by him. I’m not having a go because I am quite interested in the product myself, but I think I will hold off buying until such time as the device testing and use by all the apes above and others have completed their evaluations and been published, either in this thread or in some other medium.

Jac Vapour are probably the only company I would have full faith in rectifying any issues like that.

Any one that uses them will tell you they have top customer service [emoji106]

if the product failed to do what it was supposed to it would be under warranty, these are not major alterations, these are fine tuning and it's common for manufacturers of all things to make incremental adjustments to improve production and implementation.

This is not about making major adjustments, those are not possible. So let's take an example of an adjustment made:

We had 3 reports of sticking buttons, at that stage we had 80 devices out being used, it's not substantial data, but it's a slight indication, so we took the decision to make the tolerance on the button 0.1mm bigger to make sure this potential failure is removed. if you bought a unit and the button stuck, we'd replace it.

We will never alter the connector or compatibility, that's a complete redesign and would make it a different product, this is fine tuning an existing production ready product. If I had to launch the product as is, I would, and have no worries, but this is just a safety net as nothing is 100% no matter what you do.

Thank you for your response to my question, as I said just wondered. I have no experience of Jac Vapour or their products, others have and it would seem you have a loyal following who trust your company and the work you do, more power to you and your colleagues it’s nice to see a British company doing well and offering a decent level of customer service for a change and not in line with other competitors from over in Asia.

I can confirm the 1 ohm mtl in the vim with airflow covered feels like trying to suck a frozen McDonald's milkshake thru a straw [emoji106]

Imo it's tiiight.

I'm using it with the flow open for as long as the coil lasts now and it's not to shabby considering I prefer dtl over mtl.
