What Aspire tank?

AnyVape are working on the mini Davide BDC (i.e. with an Aspire head in it) and have been promising me they will be released "soon" everytime I talk to them.

There are some similar cheaper clearos that look similar, but you don't have a removable drip tip and you can't take the whole thing apart like you can the mini Davide version that uses the standard PT heads (the one that's their clone of the Mini PT2)and they have polycarbonate tanks (not sure if they all do, but all the samples I tried did)

I still have no idea if/when it will see the light of day.

Both mine are mini with pyrex but use the standard Kanger coil.

Im not so sure about a bdc version ive not heard very positive things about the aspire.

I get decent flavour and a fair amount of vapor out of the singles.

They do have a couple of foibles, but once you get your head around them they're really good imo.

First up, you can't rebuild the heads. For a lot of people this is no big deal, it's probably not a huge slice of the market that actually rebuild heads. If you're one of those people that likes to then they're definitely not for you. It is possible to rebuild them but it takes so much time and effort that it's not really worth it.

Second up they have a tendency to leak once the heads are past their best, and unlike say a PT head you cannot dry burn them to clean them up. If you like juices that gunk up coils quickly, again not for you.

(what happens is the coils get gunked over time and gradually less and less heat is transferred from the coil to the liquid, less liquid is turned to vapour and usually the user draws harder to compensate. Eventually you get to a point where the coil can't turn enough incoming juice pulled into the head into vapour and it floods. If you don't catch it in time it then leaks, if you don't notice the drop off it's possible to get juice in the mouth too. Once you learn the "this coils had it" point it's easy to swap out the heads in time and if you use juice that tends not to gunk things up then you get 10days or so out of each coil.)

They are also very sensitive to airflow. you need to have a fairly tight draw to get the best flavour and performance out of them. If you're using the tank on something like a Vamo or a ZMax this involves using an airflow controller. If you have bad airflow the vape quality is more or less identical to a standard ProTank. If you dial it in right it gets close to a Kayfun. (not quite as good but close)

If you can live with all of that, they're really great. If one or more of the above bothers you then you'll think they're not great.

I have a Kayfun on a nice mech for at home and I use Aspires when I'm out and about or when I'm testing juice.
