What is Squonking, why no sticky?

As someone who likes the simplicity of dripping and likes a small vaping device the cons are squonking is an unnecessary complication and requires a larger device because the bottle is in your mod rather than on the table or in your pocket. The pros and cons ultimately come down to personal preference. Just like tanks or drippers or rdta. Most folk will say conveniance is part of the reason behind their choice of device but can find different devices the most convenient.
I also like a small device and like to keep things simply, i still do dripping when I'm at home but squonking works for me so much better when out and about, I carry a spare battery and abit of juice, I change my battery and fill my bottle once a day that lasts me till the evening... I agree with your statement tho about conveniance is the reason behind the choice of device... If it works for you then you consider it to be good and if it don't then you consider it to be bad.... All about personal preference and style of vaping...

@eyeball kid thanks for a comprehensive history and overview. So, do I need to press a power button and squeeze a bottle to use the device? Do none of these use a pump or some kind of hydroponic action to push up fluid? Otherwise I can imagine that the feed would be inconsistent.
The filling is similar to dripping. You decide when to refil. Rather than dripping your juice into the rda you press your bottle. You soon become accustomed to how often to squeeze and it becomes second nature.
Newer devices like the asmodus spruzza and innokin lift use a syphon style pump. The spruzza still requires a push of button but the lift is automatic.
Eden mods are working on a similar mod too.
Squonkers became so popular due to the fact that rda' s often offer up the best flavour and densest vape. But like me vapers found carrying a separate bottle around that needs opening and dripping into the rda every four or five drags a bit of a pain.

To try and answer your questions:
What is squonking and what are the pros and cons.
There are two basic types of atomiser used in vaping, RDAs (drippers) and tanks. The tank holds the liquid so it is simple to use. With an RDA the cotton inside the coil holds a small amount of liquid. This can he replenished by dripping e-liquid on top (dripping) or from a bottle contained in the mod which is squonking.
Who is squonking suited for.
Squonking is suited for all who want the advantages of dripping (flavour etc,) without the inconvenience of having to drip. you just squeeze a bottle.
What are the current best boxes in budget, mid and premium price range.
There are all in my opinion and are devices I have owned or do own.
Budget - Pico Squeeze
Mid - Runt
Premium - Armor mech or any of the Limelight freehands.
Availability of premium squonk equipment can be tricky, and you have to remember that it is the atomiser (RDA) which actually does all of the work. A poor mod with a good RDA will provide a better vape than a good mod with a poor RDA.
What do I need to know before getting into it.
You need to be happy with building your own coils. Need to be certain of what your vape style is such as MTL (mouth to lung, like smoking a cigarette), restricted lung (a draw straight to the lungs with some restriction) and DTL (direct lung inhalation with minimal restriction). The majority of squonking equipment is unregulated (in fact all of my favourites are), this means you need to be 100% sure you are happy with Ohms law and the implications of this with regards to battery safety.

As squonking is becoming more accepted by the mainstream we are seeing an influx of new equipment, especially from the Chinese manufacturers. Some of these are good, some not so good. If you are as I suspect are new to building coils and fancy giving it a go I would strongly advise a regulated device. I can't advise you which one unfortunately as I only have one regulated squonker, and I wouldn't recommend it as a starter device due to cost.

Very interesting, I was figuring that if such a product did yet exist that someone would come up with one soon.
Does squonking use a lot more battery and juice than a sub ohm setup like my Smok stick v8 baby?

Very useful information. I think I will wait a few months and consider this again. I haven't even changed a coil yet, so I will have to learn more about coils and voltage regulation. Understanding technical aspects won't be an issue for me so much as the practical implication of said principals which seems to be far more subjective and preference based. I think I may want to go with a unregulated mod with a regular tank first. Hopefully I get luck in one of the contests. :lucky::lucky::lucky::lucky:
