What is this wire?

I received this in a giveaway with a bunch of other kits. I have loads of premade sub-ohm coils so it sat in a box for months. I picked up a Dvarw rta coppervape in the marketplace and was planning on wrapping my first coil tonight. I got everything ready and realised the coil was not a basic kanthal A1 as I had expected.

I opened up Steam-Engine for the first time and I'm not sure what to do.
I was thinking a simple 1.2ohm 2mm coil but I'm not sure this wire is suitable.

I'm thinking that the easiest solution is to take the wire and tank down to the local vape shop. Pick up some wire or premade 1.2ohm coils depending on pricing and see what is what.

I wouldn't mind picking up a pack up premade coils but don't want to wait for FT.
Any suggestions on something that can arrive in a few days cheap?
I don't mind buying a spool or wire either, but don't know what to get.

@silk186 this is a ss316l fused Clapton 26 x 2 wrapped in 32 gauge. Using some myself now in Obs v2 6/7 wraps dual coil coming out at 0.12 ohm on vapedroid. Don't forget to burn to get rid of manufacturing nasties.

@silk186 this is a ss316l fused Clapton 26 x 2 wrapped in 32 gauge. Using some myself now in Obs v2 6/7 wraps dual coil coming out at 0.12 ohm on vapedroid. Don't forget to burn to get rid of manufacturing nasties.

How do I calculate how to make coils with this?
I want to make a 1.2ohm coil for the Coppervape Dvarw Style MTL RTA, is this suitable?

No, it's for subohm DTL usage. Just use kanthal in the dvarw.

@silk186 as @John R has mentioned you will have great difficulty getting a resistance as high as 1.2 with this wire. Use steam engine to check what you can get. Best of with a higher gauge kanthan if you want to achieve 1.2

So many choices of Kanthal A1 wire, what should I go for?
Diameter: 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.32, 0.35, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60
Gauge: 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 34, 35, 38g

Something like 0.20mm / 32g?

When I see people talking about making coils it has so many measurements, diameter and wraps of the coil and diameter and gauge of the wire.

Ka28 will take about 6 wraps to get you where you're aiming for. You can even go spaced to minimise cotton burn.
