That's what I thought... but now it's changed to "there would be a real good chance that half the family would get ill at some point and die" so that's 50%, not 5%

I don't think the scenario is very clear at all, so no, not just you.

We are basically talking about the second black death I think... so yeah, I'd try anything... injecting bleach, blasting the family with microwaves.. whatever, at that point who cares?

.... that's the difference between a soldier and everyone else, if dog runs out in front of me I'm swerving (and I don't even like dogs) even if that puts me into the path of an oncoming car. The scenario would not be precise but ok in reel life the question is

“is the situation we have today any more precise”

My scenario is the same area as today except the virus is more deadly and transmits quicker but there is a vaccine that will save many lives but some people will have reactions and die from taking it.

the military situation is a true question asked in the 60s and 70s it aimed at seeing if the person would sacrifice his friends lives to save one child it could be a dog running out it makes no difference

I made this up as to see who would have a vaccine that could make you ill and some would die from it, however would this happen in real life ....... hmmm that is a question but then again if I made this situation up before covid 19 most people would say “that ain’t gonna happen we are too advanced in medicine now”

wait and hope yes that’s an option but I said a R naught of 10 which is about the same as measles lower scale

In perspective a R naught of 2-3 would be a billion people sick in 30 steps in a space of about 2 to 3 months
