Hello everyone. I bought a new vape, a voopoo Drag 4 that came with tank and 2 free coils. These are good and leak proof, but they need replacing often, so far every 1000 puffs or 2 days. These coils aren't cheap at about £13.50 for 5. That's 10 days for me, so coils will cost me around £40 a month. It also has a tiny vape tank that needs filling constantly.

I'm looking for an rta that is as leek proof as possible and 5ml volume preferably at least. Thank-you.

Hi and welcome. Have you used a rebuildable before? It's definitely more affordable and can be therapeutic taking time out cleaning and building.

Hi
i cant help with a rta as dont use them but why is your kit coils only lasting 2 days, hmm.
firstly which coils were in the kit and what ratio of juice vg/pg are you using and at what wattage. coils need bedding in so drip juice on all the cotton then fill up. if you are going to vape at say 40watt then start at 20 w and turn up a watt every couple of puffs. this will bed the coil in. starting straight at the max wattage is easiest way to burn a coil out.
is this the kit you have https://www.voopoo.com/drag-series/drag-4.html

also never used this kit but google shows this bubble glass which hopefully should fit your tank to turn it into 5ml https://ultimatejuice.co.uk/product/voopoo-drag-4-uforce-l-6ml-bubble-glass/

I only get a few days out of most stock coils too to be honest, and that's doing all the necessary prep work to bed them in.

Assuming you want to stick with Direct Lung/Sub-Ohm style tanks you could try one of these RTAs:

Most have been reviewed in here and/or on Ecigclick.

Sounds like you have the Voopoo U Tank, if so it will have come with either PnP TW 15/20 or 30 coils, which in my experience are over rated by about a third on the recommended wattage, I run the tank with the tw 20 at between 22-25 watts as an out and about vape, there is a 5ml bubble glass available for it, if that is what it is.

My juice is around 60% vg. If I do buy more coils for it I will do as you suggest. I might buy the 5ml glass adapter, thanks.

I'll check them out, thanks.

It is the pnp 20 that I have. I've turned it down to 25 watts, I prefer it at 40 but it's passable at 25 with a longer draw.

I do like the ease and leek proofness of the pnp coil, but the cost is too much. I'm trying to be very frugal with my cash because I'm saving for a cat and dog. I wish I could quit nicotine entirely, but I doubt my ability to do so. Plus I enjoy it quite a bit. I'll check out those links and try to find a decent rta. Cheers all.

Hi, yes I've used them. I have a vandy vape v1. Unfortunately I've lost a couple of the screws for it...so I'll buy another. I'm not sure how therapeutic it is to rebuild, it can be quite tricky and frustrating. Much cheaper though. Thanks for the comment.

If you are going to replace your old rta can I suggest that you look at the review on the home page for the dead rabbit solo v3 rta? it has top down air flow which is more forgiving to novice rebuilders.

I bought a profile x wotofo rda from legion of vapers that someone suggested. Delivered quickly. I'm no novice builder, I've been doing it for years, but I always found it tricky.
The new rta came with 3 mesh coils, it's my first time using them and I'm hooked. Easy to install and you can fit much more cotton under them. Easier and better than the Clapton coils imo. £5 for 10 of the mesh coils so the price is good too.
So far the profile x is leek proof and vapes well. Cheers all.
