Why does my juice taste so weak?

I'm just starting out - I've bought a bunch of flavours (mostly TFA) and I'm mixing with VG based nic and using VG base, no PG at all (other than in the flavours)

I have a problem, where no matter how much flavour I seem to add, it just tastes kind of muted..

So just now, I mixed:

blueberry candy (15%),
blueberry extra (2%),
cream soda (3%),
sweetener (0.7%)

Given it a shake and had a vape - it just tastes of.. not much, can tell there is blueberry in there but not much..

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Let it mature for a week in a dark place and try it again.
If its still muted, leave for another week.
If then its still too weak, time to play with your %ages.

Fruit vapes don't tend to need a lot of steeping time, 2 days is recommended though, just to give it time to settle in. You may be experiencing vapers tongue though, that's the only thing I can come up with. Percentages that high would be noticeable.

Chuck it away out of light, and if you have any strong mint liquids, vape on that. Then come back to this mix in a few days and see if there's a difference.

This may or may not apply to you but giving the bottles of concentrates a really good and vicious shake before using them seems, for me anyway, the most important part of the entire diy process.
Using concentrates straight from the jiffy bag resulted in quite a few disappointments for me until the penny dropped.

Is there any reason why you're going for low / zero PG ?

I know some people are intolerant, but in general terms concentrates take time to form a solution, or even a compound, with VG. That's why most concentrates are suspended in PG.

What the guys are saying is spot on i.e. steep it, make sure you mix the concentrate before use, but you are going to have to wait longer for flavour to come to the fore with a really low PG mix.

I mix at 20 percent .... 10% to 20% is a general minimum for tanks to allow for wicking. Drippers are of course drippers, and you can run pretty much anything with them :)

That makes a lot of sense. I'd never thought of that. I'll definitely give them a shake next time :)

My only reason was I didn't buy any PG. I've got some now and have started adding it in to my mixes. I've got a couple of bottles made up with PG that I might have try of tonight. Hopefully they are better :)

OKI .. the only other thing I can think is that sometimes flavours can kill other flavours (although with what your mixing I can't really see that). If you try the mixes you've got when they've steeped a bit and they're still muted, try just a single fruit mix at the recommended percentage and see if it comes through.

You could try a little distilled water rather than pg to help carry the flavours as heavy vg liquid will steal your flavours. I've read something in the past from flavour art recommending this method for higher vg mixes.
