Why would my coils be burning out so quick

Hi all. I seem to be having an issue with coils burning out quickly. I have two Aspire Zelos mods and on one I has the aspire Atlantis Evo tank with 0.18 SS Eleaf ECL coils, the other has a Smok Baby best tank running 0.15 baby beast quad coils. I run both between 35 and 40 watt which is well within the minimum range of wattage. The smok coil lasted me 4 days, the eleaf coils fair slightly better most of the time lasting about a week, the most i have had is 10 days out of one. It doesn't seem to make much difference on the type of juice used either. I do notice that sweeter juices burn them out quicker which is standard i guess.

I do always fully prime the coils and leave a good hour before vaping. I dont know if it is something i am doing wrong or maybe the mods are not doing the right job? Any ideas at all? I have also attempted a rebuildable coil with A uwell crown and it didn't go well, a lung full of burnt cotton so gave up with that and found the crown tank and generic coils dont give as good a flavour.

what ratio vg/pg juice you using. 80vg or above could well cause issues.
as you said high sweetner juice will burn them out a lot quicker but they should last a little longer than that.
what sort of draw are you taking a long inhale of over 4 seconds or shorter.
also are you starting at a low wattage on a new coil and turning up every puff or going straight in at your usual wattage of 35-40w

Most juice i use is a 60vg/40pg. I generally draw for 2-3 seconds. I have tried upping the wattage over time but didn't seem to make much difference. I wonder if the problem is unlike ciggies where i would have one every hour or so, i seem to use my vape far more often maybe every 5 -10 minutes. Perhaps i am using it too much, but I do switch between the two set ups all the time which i thought would even it out for each coil. I do like my sweet vapes ashamedly. I have noticed if i use just my bubblegum flavour the coil will be gone within 2 days at most. Heizen lasts a little longer.

As @MrDJ says there are alot of variables to guess how long a coil will last. If you use Malaysian fruit liquids for example, they can kill coils very quickly.

In all honesty though, 4 days from a Smok coil is about right and a week from the Aspire is also about right. Sometimes you will get lucky and have a coil that lasts longer, other times get unlucky and get a coil that lasts far less. That's luck of the draw using stock coils I'm afraid.

60vg should be fine then but as Chris said its just luck of the draw. smok QC seems to be a bit naff lately.
when im home ive got a vape in my hand continuosly until i crash out but i do have quite a lot of mods and tanks on the go and vary between flavors so im not sure how long one would last if i only had the one tank on the go.
i do know i get through at least 2 or 3 tank fulls with my crown coils a night which i only use custard in and they are lasting 6-8 days and thats 70vg.

Thanks for the info. can anyone suggest a rebuild-able that wont fill my lungs with smoke like my Uwell crown did at 10 watts? I would love the cost saving on rebuilding and quite like to tinker but having my first experience totally destroyed by Uwell has made me put it on the back burner...no pun intended

10watts for the uwell crown. thats a first.
ive got 9 on the go and when i put a new coil in i lower it to 20watts and there is no taste what so ever but still some vapour. after 10 mins i turn it back up to its normal 50-60watts.

if there is too much vapour for you at 10watts then it sounds like direct to lung is not for you and might be better to get a mouth to lung tank like the nautilus 2 with a 1.8 coil at 10-14watts max.

i dont build so have no idea on whats a decent rebuildable but i think these will give as much cloud depending on wire used of course.

It wasn't the vapour it was the rebuildable coil i tried, 10 watt and it sent a mass amount of burnt cotton smoke down my lungs, the pre-built coils for the crown work fine at 40 watt, it was just the RBA that was like a bonfire, i tried rebuilding it 3 different ways with different amount of cotton and each way tasted foul and just of cotton smoke. That's why I keep putting up with coils that don't seem to last long. Just seems a waste constantly binning the entire coil after a couple of days, which is why i made the near fatal mistakle of trying the Crown RBA. :17:

If youve got both tanks on the go at the same time the coils are only lasting half the time essentially.

Just saying!

I guess with the Smok and Aspire you vape DTL (Direct to lung) as oppose to MTL (Mouth to lung) which is more like smoking a cigarette?

Lots of very good RTAs available out there. OBS Nano which is only a single coil is a cracking little top airflow RTA as is the SMM Serpent. Being single coil means less ''cloudz bro" and, to me anyway, better flavour.

Check out FastTech.com as be cheap as chips there and also can order a proper capacity instead of the 2ml which we get in the EU. Just use ePacket shipping and usually here in less than a week.
