Sue at @Healthcabin sent me the Wotofo Manik Pod Mod Kit for a review.

The Wotofo Manik comes in the usual Wotofo green and black packaging and as normal its a pretty hard task to get into the box, (word on the grapevine is Wotofo will be changing the packaging on their products soon) the clear plastic lid displays The device name MANIK in big bold lettering and some information about the kit, with contents and warnings on the rear.

In the box, you get the Manik with the D15 clapton mesh coil pre installed , a spare D14 conical coil, micro USB charging cable, user manual and a card showing how to remove the pod.

The kit is available in 4 colours Nano Black, Nano Chrome, Prism Gunmetal and Nano Gunmetal which is the version i was sent out.

The Wotofo Manik is Wotofos first offering into the pod world and probably wont be the last, its powered by a single 18650 battery (polarity cleary marked) with a wattage range of 5 - 80 watts going up in 1 watt increments, when powering the mod on with the usual 5 clicks you are greeted by the big green Wotofo logo, 5 clicks powers the device off and lights up with nexchip and version number.

Every side of the device has Branding or a logo on it but not over the top, it also came with a small code capture sticker which when peeled off left a sticky residue on the side of the mod which i managed to get off with De Solv It sticky residue remover.

Wotofo are not the first company to go for an Aegis legend style look as the Manik somewhat resembles with the leather grip with stitching on the rear edge the only difference is it has MANIK embossed into it, its one of the tallest pod systems out there if you know the Lost Vape Thelema its taller and slimmer than that.

Once you are on the main screen you have the usual battery indicator bar on the left of the screen with percentage of battery remaining on the right, then you have the usual Watts, Volts, Ohms, a padlock to indicate wether the device is unlocked or not , (Green =Unlocked, Red = Locked), puff counter and a HUGE puff timer wich believe it or not is the biggest display on the screen.
The screen despite being under tinted plastic is fairly bright and ive had no issues reading it whatsoever.
Powered by the newly developed NexChip it’s got a super fast fire time which Wotofo claims is 0.001s all i know is its very responsive almost instant.
The power/fire button is not a square affair button its sort of beveled but is nice clicky and responsive the +/- buttons underneath the screen are pretty small but responsive and a micro usb port for firmware updates if needed most ppl wil say it should be USB C no need , charge your batteries on an external charger

Button configurations

3 clicks of the power buton locks the device completly so no accidental firing or changing wattages cant even take a puff.
+/- locks the wattage only
Power/+ changes the colours on the screen with 6 to choose from purple/green/red/blue/yellow and white
Power/- clears the puff counter

Attaching the pod is somewhat simple right at the top on the pod is the release mechanisim for the pod push it in and push back on the pod and it releases itself, somewhat similar to the Aegis Boost line, once in place it is nice secure and sturdy absolutley zero chance of it coming out.
The pod like most nowadays is made from a tinted PCTG anti shatter plastic and holds 4.5ml of liquid and im a dim light its pretty hard to see the juice level, there’s a silicone plug on top for easy refilling ive found it best to push the silicone flap upwards at the back of the pod then you can get a grip on it if you are like me with hardly any nails and pop it up, the drip tip is not user replaceable and is built into the tank itself, you might struggle to refill with some chubby shortfill bottles as the fill port it pretty close to the drip tip.

Coils are push fit not only do you have the Wotofo range to choose from but It does however use plug and play coils and is cross compatible with Vaporesso GTX or Voopoo PnP coils so a very wide selction is on hand for this device Wotofo also offers an RBA but sadly it’s not included in the kit.
So far so good with no leaks from the Wotofo coils just a dribble of condensation
The airflow is fixed on the MANIK via a slot on each side which is a letdown as it is definatley needed

D15 Clapton mesh coil rated at 45-55 watts

As always i primed the coil before use filled the pod and left it to soak for about 10- 15 mins and using some 70/30 Maylasian BANGSAWAN Honeydew and Pineapple starting off at 25 watts to break the coil in i knew this was going to be good as the flavour was there at this wattage as i increased the wattage the flavour just got better and the clouds got bigger i ended up going over the recomended 50 watts at one point i was on 65 and it didnt struggle just got a bit warm so i went back to 50 watts i did find running this coil the juice went quite quickly and found myself refilling quite a bit.

D14 Conical Nexmesh coil Rated 35-40W

Using the same juice with this coil which is supposed to bring a warmer and thicker taste i have to disagree the flavour was there but just did not pop as much when using the D15 Clapton mesh coil going over the reccomended wattage gave some improvement but nowhere near the same with an airflow option there could have been a vast improvement

Pros

Solid device
Very responsive
Supports GTX and PNP coils
Great flavour

Cons/Niggles

Awkward fill port on larger bottles
Airlow is fixed
Built in drip tip

Once again thanks to Sue @Healthcabin for sending this across

Thanks for the review BC. Nice looking device but a shame the pods don't cater for MTL.

I owned one of these for two entire weeks. Enjoyed using it sooo much as it was my way to reduce an stop a 27 year addiction to cigarettes. The device stopped powering on and when I tinkered with it then it powered up. When I say tinker I mean connecting the usb, even if the cable wasn’t plugged into the wall it still jumped too life. Perhaps a chip glitch which gives the power switch an USB port connector a connection. Astonished me.
