Just a quick Yo and Hello to you all. I’m Dozwold, a forty something male who smoked for 25 years. I’m now 8 weeks off the smelly cigs and starting to love it. I must admit though that vaping (properly) is far more time consuming, has cost me a fortune (I used to get duty free cigs due to lots of travel so that wasn’t an issue before) and had a lot of problems and frustrations starting out, from wrong vape shop advice, to buying multiple tanks, to buying fake and old non TPA juices by a store that could tell I was a newbie, and multiple packs of different coils (sometime having to change coils 3 times daily as I didn’t know about dripping and wicking) to a ruined Hugo boss suit through a full tank in an rba leaking, to learning to rewick but nearly killing my throat by inhaling burnt cotton multiple times, to setting off a hospital fire alarm (don’t ask) but now that I’m getting more and more knowledgable, it’s all settling down. Finally, I’m learning what I like (and more importantly what I don’t like) and I feel that all the time, effort and money is worth it all. To all you ex smokers on here, please stick it out, it’s worth it in the long run. Still learning, and still need help, but seems the vaping community is a very friendly and helpful one so I have no doubts I will be a long time vaper now. Cheers, Dozwold.

Hi and welcome to the forum pull up a chair have a look around and don’t be afraid to ask questions :)2

Welcome!

Seems like it’s been a bit of a road to get to this point but once you get a bit of guidance and learn a bit more about the devices etc you’ll be fine.

That’s the best thing about forums like this - any problems you’ve had, someone has probably already asked the same thing, or someone will be able to give you some advice to help out.

Hi and welcome to the Planet.

great intro. get stuck at any time then just holler as always someone on line to give help and advice.

Welcome Dozwold :)2 I do think you should elaborate on the hospital fire alarm story ... you can't just mention it in passing like that :20:

you dont have to name the hospital ( but we will google it )

I’d like to say that being a member of this forum has saved me a skip load of cash, but that would be a lie.

The advice is however invaluable.

Hi all and nice to meet you. Lol, well luckily it was only a small private hospital with around 20 rooms, mainly for minor operations so luckily I didn’t kill anyone. I knew I had to stay overnight and would not be able to walk outside for a fag as I would be bedridden overnight, so earlier that day I bought my first mod and a subohmtank and some nasty juice and took it with me thinking well I had a private room booked. A few hours after my op at around 2am I still could not sleep from the pain, so I started to vape heavily. Rest assured after a few puffs all the alarms bells were ringing like mad, clearly waking up all the other poor patients in the whole hospital, and a bunch of nurses came running in to my room with a couple of fire extinguishers ready to spray me as I was covered in vape. Luckily they didn’t spray me but screamed at my idiocity and gave me a right telling off for smoking illegal bongs and there was me trying to explain it was vape and vape is like steam and was not a bong, after a while one of the other nurses seemed to understand and saw the funny side and blamed my stupidity on giving me too much morphine.. I felt like a little naughty child caught by teachers at school, especially when the nurses took my mod away and told me I’m not getting it back until the morning... We’ll that was my story of my first 24 hours of vaping.
