Hello, my name's Patrick (pat, paters.. I don't mind!)

I've completely stopped smoking after getting the "Stoptober" kit from Sky Cig last month. It was surprisingly easy and found that I actually prefer vaping. No more smell, yellow fingers etc etc.

I like the look and feel of the Sky Cigs, but found that cartridges didn't last anywhere near as long as advertised and now the two batteries it came with have kicked the bucket.

I've joined up because I'm totally bewildered by all the gizmos on the market, so really need help in choosing what gear to buy now.

I think I need something more reliable tor home use and something like the Sky Cig but better for occasional nights out. Any ideas?

Welcome to the planet :)

and big congrats on switching!

Vaping seems to follow a similar process among the masses.

Get a cigalike, find out its not that great, but realize there is more to it, upgrade to an ego style kit and either stick with it, or follow onto the wonders of Variable Voltage or Wattage devices.... then onto big battery mods :)

Its all about you and you get to decide how you want to do it.

Get a device that has at least a 510 connection. It is the most used and most compatible, next is the Ego connection (most come with 510 as well), move away from prefilled and onto a clearo or carto that you can refill and replace heads on like the Kanger Protank Mini or an EVOD... and you are GOOD TO GO!

I did exactly the same thing. Friend got me a Greensmoke battery and disposable cartridges, which were too bloody expensive to replace when they ran out, so I got the disposable cig-alikes from the local supermarket. After a while I realised a) that I'd accidentally given up smoking! And b) I was spending almost as much on disposable cartos.

I know it is very confusing and the choice is enormous. I moved on to an Ego Vision V3 rebuildable. Nice and simple, take it to pieces to replace the coils when they wear out (very easy to do), pour juice in the top. It's a stable, not too expensive work horse that I still use, even though I've carried on upgrading. Myh first kit had the advantage of two batteries, which is great, cos you can always have one charged at the ready. As KulrMeStoopid says, then you can maybe move on to bigger tanks like the Kanger or the Vivi Nova (both 510 fittings), with maybe a VV VW battery mod which will help you to regulate how much burn/vapour etc you get. You can carry on upgrading until you're whittling your own... :)

Welcome paters I agree u should get a nice kit with 2 batteries like an evod kit they have them on the Marketplace I believe myepack has them when you buy from the Marketplace here u know you're getting good quality kit and if you see something you're not sure of you can always ask lots of help and advice here - happy vaping

Hi paters! Welcome to the Planet! :welcome2:

That's an excellent choice of kit to start with, I directed my friend to that one too and she's given up smoking completely on it.

Now comes the fun part - juice shopping!!

Hello and welcome paters, you've had some sound advice and I see you've made your purchases! I'm sure you'll be really pleased with them.

Have a read of our wiki page and this will give you some of the basic terminology. There are also lots of good juice reviews, that's what you'll need to buy next and it's where the fun really begins!!
