zenith coil tasting burnt

As low as that, there rated 10-14w , if i cant go any more than 10.5 think i will have to start using different coils

Yip, you wont get much vapour at 8.5w......but your making damn sure its priming.... at 10 or 10.5.....it's very decent.
I prefer the 1.0 ohm @Simon G rates the 0.50 plex well.
They lie about coil capabilities all the time.....no way is that coil doing 14w.
The 1.0 ohm coil is rated at 20-25 watts....i think if I remember correctly I use it at 17.5- 18 maybe 20 at a push.

I think this may be the reason the 1.2 ohm ones are getting bad reviews of late......the guided ratings are nonsense and folks are going in to high and burning them out

14w is the absolute highest recommended setting, with I would imagine, maximum airflow to cool the coil.... it your are taking long pulls and not waiting for the wick to re-saturate that will do it too.

If you want to vape at higher power I'd recommend the 0.5 plexus, that's rated at 12-16w and seems to keep up with heavier vaping too.

If you want to longest life out of your coil, and this applies to any stock coil, then I would always recommend vaping at the lowest setting you can get away with, even if it's slightly below the recommended.
Thanks for your advice, will probably change to different coils

I used an endura t18ii before which at its highest setting was 13.5 on a1.5 coil, so i thought at 12+ on a 1.2 it would be ok

No worries, and Rickster is right too, you can't go on the recommended settings as 'gospel' and you really don't want to be vaping at the absolute limit of the coil either. The 1ohm he suggests might work for you as it looks like it has larger holes for the wick.

But yeah, it might take a bit of trail and error to find the ones that will work for you.

Yip.... going by the manufacturers guidelines you would think so.....but it's not the case, as @Simon G suggests try a few n see, which is best for you.

Will keep trying to find the right one, but will start low from now on. thanks

Yeah, It doesn't really work like that. It's more about how fast it can wick and how the airflow is. If you could keep the wicking wet and the coil cool you could probably vape it at 30w, but then for some people who want to vape at 10w that could cause flooding and leaking issues, They'll design the coils to be used at the power they think gives the best overall vaping experience for the tank it's used in and the resistance doesn't really correlate directly to the amount of power you can use.

Makes sense thank you

Im thinking of changing to 1.6, do you notice much difference

Put it this way, I binned the 1.2 coil the moment I opened the kit, purely based on what I'd heard about them.

1.6 or 0.8 are my recommendations, 1.6 is probably the better choice for you.
