I've got the falcon two, and like other sub ohm tanks I use such as the cerberus and mesh pro, they don't wick as fast as my rebuildables. I tend to poke holes in the wicking ports like you said you do that too. With the falcon two, it does wick well in comparison to the others I mentioned, lots of bubbles after each pull, however the cotton never gets super wet like when it's first primed. I know it's a pain, but sometimes with the falcon 2, after two or three pulls ill shut the airflow off, then blow down the drip tip. You should see extra bubbles forced out of the mesh chamber and into the tank, and the cotton gets nice and saturated. After doing this for say 2-300 puffs while breaking the coil in, it tends to keep wicking well without having to burp the tank after that ( My current sector coil was at about 800 puffs, but I've cleaned it and will continue using it at a later date as I was bored and wanted to use something else) . I find this helps with the longevity, so it never gets too dry, and kind of breaks in the cotton so it gets used to sucking up more juice. With my Cerberus I can quickly pop open the top cap and close for the same effect, but because the falcon two if slide open it doesn't work, hence closing the airflow and force air into tank. I don't know, maybe you could try this and see if it helps you.
Personally the coils last well for me, but only if I'm careful like this, however I actually prefer the geekvape mesh coils, better flavour. If you have coils left could be worth trying, but I would also take the advice others have given and get a rebuildable
good luck!
