About Reducing Nicotine intake

So I was using RY6 with 24mg nicotine. After doing some reading I realized that 24mg was too high for me, so I changed to 18mg. I didn't notice much difference really and settled after a few days. Now I'm thinking I should reduce it again to 12mg, but I'm actually a bit scared to do it, I don't want to spoil my new hobby which has stopped me from smoking cigarettes altogether. Should reducing the nicotine level, in stages, eventually reaching 0 nicotine be the goal for us all? Or is it okay to just vape at whichever level you like and forget about it? Will it be a more difficult move the lower you get? I am noticing I find it difficult to get to sleep these days, so perhaps I need to reduce again. Thanks.

You won't ruin it ... you will self regulate

you may find yourself vaping more of the 12mg .. then again you may not.

keep some 18 around just in case you need the psychological crutch!

I agree, give it a go, try some 12mg when you have some 18 mg still around, -you may not notice the difference.
I didn't :D

i switched to vaping to be healthier as i enjoyed smoking. Ive been vaping 18mg since i started a year ago. if you final goal is to kick the habbit then gradually reduce the nic over time.

I've been at 0 nic for about 3 weeks, started at 24 quickly down to 18 then 12 for about 4 months. I'm sure in my case smoking was and is a psychological addiction. Cant say i miss the nic.
was meaning to cut down from 12 to 6 but a long chat with a cardiologist changed my mind. Best of luck and give 12 a go

yeah just step it down one level at a time - from 18 to 12 to 8 to 6 to 4 to 0 if you want to go that far but always keep some of the higher strength available

Hi Mostly, can you tell us briefly what the cardiologist said about nicotine to change your mind. I'd be very interested. Thanks.

Routine blood test = high troponin levels, admitted to acute ward in local hospital, five days later after ultrasounds and an unpleasant angiogram declared fit and healthy, healthier than average heart thankfully. Long chat with two cardiologists neither that fussed about vaping but they advised Nicotine does have a negative affect on people with an underlying heart condition, temp increases in pressure and heart rate but narrowing of the arteries is the greater risk. The current understanding is that the level of nicotine isn't a factor.
So I've become a 0.
