Is there any advantage in me pre-mixing my base + PG + VG ahead of time , as I plan to vape at 50/50 and 6mg all the time (for this batch anyway).

Would it save time for the steeping / blending process by doing this or is that more relevent when the concentrates are being added?

Well... it means you dont have to mix anything other than flavourings. I don't suggest it, in case you change your preferences.

I always have about 10mls of pre mix nic/vg/pg made up, just in case I need to add or do a quick mix.
A bigger stash should be ok...as some vendors sell it made up to your liking.
Just need to remember to adjust the ratio's when adding flavour.

Thanks Rag and very strange but amusing nickname! I'll maybe do 1/4 of my supplies now and leave the rest incase I change my mind about the %'s

I premix my vg/pg 80/20 500ml at a time for the convenience saves a few minutes and thins the vg making it easier to handle.
This system does not suit control freaks that want to be precise about their vg/pg ratio as you are likely to want different amount of flavour in different mixes which throws this ratio out a bit but I am not discerning enough to notice the small diference.
I do not add nic to my base because I like to be precise about it.

I pre-mix a couple of hundred ml at a time. I only use VG and a VG nic base so the only benefit is consistency and convenience.

I mix it up on the assumption that I'll be using 20ml concentrate but if the recipe calls for less concentrate I make the difference up with PG.

Final question (hopefully)

I'm getting 5 concentrates from Vampire Vapes today, hopefully.

Rather than make each 5 or 10 ml bottle seperately with nic, pg, vg .. is is ok to make a big batch of the nic, pg, vg then seperate it into the smaller bottles?

I'm just curious about keeping the 50/50 ratios if I do it that way. ie, the pg/vg not mixing together evenly in a bigger batch before seperating.

If you mix the base in a larger bottle than required so there is plenty of space for it to shake about in then you give it a good long shake then I see no problem.

I've recently started experimenting with a lot of new flavours and recipes and having the base ready mixed makes it a doddle to play.

I've worked out that the bottles I'm using give 40 drops per ml:
10ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring =0.25%
5ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 0.5%
2.5ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 1%

If the bottles give 33 drops per ml (some of mine do):
12 ml of base +1 drop of flavouring = 0.25%
6ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 0.5%
3ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 1%

Just work out how many drops per ml your bottles give and do the maths to work out how many drops per ml you'll get.

If the bottles give 20 drops per ml:
5ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 1%
10ml of base + 1 drop of flavouring = 0.5%

I'll work out the overall flavouring quantity and deduct that from the base I'm adding to it.

This technique means it takes less time to make loads of sample and near 0% post mix clean up required.

Just keep in mind the flavouring will
reduce the nicotine level and adjust the PG/VG ratio.

To work out drops per ml ive been dripping into a 5ml syringe, counting drops until I reach 3ml, then dividing that by 3..thats quite an accurate way of measuring them.
