This is going to be a long process! Tried my first mesh wick last night and although it looks ok, it's reading 9.9ohms on my vamo! Where did I go wrong?

You could always toast some bread on it. In all honesty without providing people here with a bit more information, you cannot really expect them to advise. What size wire did you use, and how many wraps? Did you torch the mesh etc etc? Some pictures would also help if possible.

9.9ohm on a Vamo means that your tank is not connecting
Check your centre pin on the Vamo to make sure it is high enough to make contact with the tank 510

I knocked the centre post on the turbine as per doc dave's video and it's now reading 1.5 ohms, then 1.1, then 1! Pretty eratic but it's firing sometimes. When I get round to putting a second coil in do I have to put it under the washer on the centre post so it doesn't directly touch the other coil or doesn't it matter?
