AHHHHHHGGGG!!! Help

guessing 1.4OHM mate that could well be your problem, have you tested it with a meter as well. also as mentioned top coil pulling into the positive post and make sure the wick is not touching the base of the atty causing a short. I know tried my doodlebug on his unit on friday night and he go LO reading and that was due to the OHM being below what the unit could handle, aaarrrhh bliss mechanical mods don't have this problem

carl

does less wraps give higher ohms or the other way round?

No more wraps = higher resistance. I have the same issue as you at the moment, and believe its down to the cheap SS mesh that I have bought. I am guessing you bought the mesh from the same place I did ;)

It has to be, as it works perfectly with the silica. I will be placing an order with stealthvape tonight. Its the old saying, which I have yet to accept 'pay cheap, pay twice'!

Or don#t pay and borrow off someone else :grin2:

Do you guys Boil mesh before you use it ( I doubt it ). ????

I tend to as even tho flamed can still leave impurities left mixed within the carbon/oxidization and could cause wicking issues.. I seldom get any no matter what i wick up.
( just food for thought in future)

Boil your mesh before using, to get rid of any residue left behind from production. Every little helps....

Mine is from stealth vape, I have had no issues with it before, just today. I normal have 4 wraps of .20 and get about 1.8 ohms

So if I was looking for about 2 ohms I would need about 5 wraps?

don't take this the wrong way mate but personally you need to invest in a multi meter £11 from B&Q if you need one quick or ebay around £7 plus postage. I could be wrong but it sounds like you don't have one, I know PPL rely on there VV mods to check but enen when I had the provari i still used a meter. but yes another wrap or 2 will up it mate.

errm yes I do never assume lol, I read it on ECF after the 3 burn off boil for a min in a pan of small amount of water then dry off with the burner and juice burn 3 times, never had a issue with metallic taste doing the boil for a min

Maybe when you wick in future always make a spare when feeling upto it !! That way you can test one against another if the 1st does not go to plan? maybe the 2nd will be perfect 1st time around so you can work on the 1 that doesn't fire so good afterwards to find why.

If you have ever burnt wire on say a bonfire Etc, and then removed it or pulled it clear.. you possibly notice the black carbon bits falling of ???? Thats where it never adhered so to speak or even smoke that simply wipes clean off..... so although we oxidize our SS...

You ASSUME coz it's blackish on a wick its sorted,, and yet not always so as blackened look could not be adhered properly to the metal itself entirely due to residue or even grease of palms perhaps.... therefore wicking probs can occur ( rarely even) due to the coil not making perfect contact ?
Heating SS to a glow of heat does not mean perfect coil contact, anything metal to metal transferring current has to have CLEAN contact in order to work properly.

Preparation is key and a good tradesmen doesn't blame his tools....... a science ? No just a logic transpired into a practice... I hope this may be of use to any who read the reasoning and seek the cause. But it is fun trying, frustrating yeah but still fun.

It is simply a theory and i Ponder why do so many have issues.. perhaps there is some truth in what i wrote... you can be the judge of that. :hmm:

The wifey does not always make the perfect fried egg,, she burns a few first LOL.... then plates up the 1 in 3 that wasn't such a disaster :yahoo:
