Another fire caused by a charging E-cig

Terrible thing to happen, but I think the key to that story is 'left to charge overnight'.

Not a good idea to leave any battery's charging overnight.

And not using the charger correctly.

Would it have been all over the news if it was a chinese battery in a mobile phone that exploded (as they can and do)?

I doubt it somehow.

And not using the charger correctly.

Exactly.

I will say though, big media in general love to jump all over the back of negative stories concerning ECigs. How many fires were caused across they UK started by cigarettes over the last week I wonder.

It's almost like the media, backed by huge multinational companies (like tobacco company's for instance ) run the world....#conspiracy

Whilst not to speak ill of anyone, who falls foul of this sort of thing, for whatever reason.
Note the type of charger.
The same type that's in most, if not all, the other incidents. Query no protection circuit in it, or the ego.
Also, was it not in Wales where trading standards, came across a load of dodgy/unsafe chargers. (might be wrong there)

While I use the proper charger for my Egos, I use my phone chargers for my itaste v3. I have phone chargers plugged in in most rooms. It just makes it easier. But I don't leave it unattended. And unplug as soon as it is done. And I don't use iPhone chargers. Mine are all brand names that came with my phones. (Sony, Samsung, LG). I did have a cheapo eBay thing, but my phone got really hot every time I used it, I decided to throw it.
