here we go again with the "wrong charger" craic. the usb power supply being used isn't relative. the battery charger draws what it wants from the power available to it, the full power of the usb supply isn't forced on to it. this would of happened even if the poor lass was using one of the 50p shit ones that comes with an e-cig. fair one she shouldn't have left it while she was asleep. for a bunch of people that are obsessed and angered by people passing on disinformation about e-cigs, you lot certainly do a lot of it in regards to the charger used.
My speculation is that it was a dodgy battery and/or dodgy ego/510 adapter/charger. It's possible that she also had a dodgy iphone charger given that she buys cheap crap from market stalls. Who knows? Perhaps the Fire Investigators will figure it out.
it just proves that they haven't got a clue about what they're on their high horse about, makes them look a twat and continues the spread of disinformation which could get someone hurt.

i agree wholeheartedly with your speculation a bayonet connection isn't the ideal type of connection for this kind of application, especially when a lot of atomisers can leak onto the end of the battery. couple that with the fact that a lot of the cheaper ones are sub standard with low quality control and it is a recipe for disaster. it just really makes my shit itch when people on here start calling the people involved in these incidents stupid for using an iPad charger or the like when it has absolutely no relevance (unless like you said it was a defective or shit one bought from somewhere dodgy.), it just proves that they haven't got a clue about what they're on their high horse about, makes them look a twat and continues the spread of disinformation which could get someone hurt.
I'm sorry moth but you are WRONG the power supply is irrelevent. However the CHARGER most certainly is relevant, the charger shown in the picture is an unregulated type that simply connects the battery directly to the USB supply It allows the battery to be charged over voltage almost guaranteeing a failure of some sort. If she'd been using the correct charger this would most likely not have happened...
