I love Blackcurrent and want to make a batch up, but I want it to be as natural as possible and strong.

I've tried some before and found it wanting, including the Ribena Man juice, which I found very muted, as did my mates.

I'm new to mixing but have just knocked up 50ml's of Flavour Art Blackcurrant. It's nice, I mixed it at 7.5% flavour.

Cheers mate, but how strong was the flavour at 7.5%, because I'm not joking when I say I struggle, I think I could stub a cigarette out on my tongue and I probably wouldn't notice.

At 7.5% it's quite flavourful and has a tangy mouthwatering effect. At 10 I'd say you'd get plenty of flavour.

My favourite is TW's Blackcurrant.. Closely followed by FlavourArt..

They're completely different tastes but both lovely to me. I think the FA one is more what you're looking for from the two.

How'd you get on with Inawera's, StuPot ?

Hiya,

Inawera have a few ranges but the one I tried (I think it was e-eromat) was like a sweet blackcurrant.. Kinda like blackcurrant chew sweets flavour. It's nice.. But like most flavours.. They're all handy to have because they bring something different to a mix..

It's the same with a lot of flavours.. Strawberry for instance... I have my favourites but quite a few are nice and will be used in mixes but they're all so different.

Couldn't agree more StuPot. I find that a lot with fruits and often use two concentrates for the same flavour because they're complimentary.

I like FlavourArt's Blackcurrant and have the Inawera in the post. It'll be interesting to discover whether I get similar results to apple, strawberry and raspberry.

We're blessed with apples.. So many nice ones..

A few of my favourites are:
Green Apple (Capella) although TFA isn't bad.
Fuji Apple (FA)
Apple (FA)
Double Apple (FW)

I've not tried other apples yet but it seems it's an easy flavour to create..

Then strawberry:
Sweet Strawberry (Capella)
Strawberry (FA)
Strawberry (DV)
Ripe Strawberry (TFA)

Same again.. All nice but some are better when blended..

I'm finding the same with a lot of flavours so if you buy some you're not keen on, save them, they'll likely be useful later down the line.

StuPot - what's the Fuji Apple like? I love an apple, and one of the Inawera apple concentrates is one of my ADV flavours. Always good to have options... ;)
