Hi all!

I have been smoking electronic cigarettes now for over 1 year with what appears to be no negative side effects, my fitness has improved and generally all around i feel allot better, it really feels to me like i have quite smoking.

I would like to know if anyone has experienced any negative side effects when using ecigs, so from your experience are ecigs safe? are electronic cigarettes safe

Thanks!

Anything you inhale into your lungs other than air can pose a threat. I don't belive there have been any major issues uncovered. And personally I both believe its safe and feel much better for it. Ones things for sure its much safer than smoking, maybe not as the wallets concerned mind!

Here are a few links worth having a read through

Now mind you roughly the 1st 12 weeks you stop smoking and start vaping, your body is getting rid of all the nasty crap from Smoking. So new users attribute the generally crappy feelings or coughs, with vaping when that normally isn't the case.

Some people have a low tolerances to PG but it is rare, however, PG does cause dryness and a sore throat, so please stay hydrated and if it becomes uncomfortable, purchase a lower PG and higher VG ratio e-liquid.

The Wiki on our site is probably one of the biggest ecig related wiki's available on the internet and you should have a read through of some of that too especially the dictionary.

ECigs ARE safer than smoking. Every study has proven that beyond a doubt for years. What is "unknown" is the long term effects (but mind you ecigs have been in use for over 13 years without death or severe illnesses reported, anywhere.) They have been in the "mainstream" for about 3 years though becoming more popular world wide.

At the end of the day, I will take this over smoking any time. NRTs never worked for me, but this has. I have been vaping nearly 2 years and havent had a real cig in over a year.

Even the pro-ecig arguments take a line of caution over statements of safety, not because they know there's a degree of risk, but because they can't say there's NO risk (as could be said for practically anything we ingest).

What we do know is that nicotine (without associated combustion of tobacco), PG and VG have zero or minimal identified risks attached to inhalation and the latter 2 are approved for medicinal use in inhalation already. The only element of vaping that is currently not proven to be safe for inhalation are the flavours - that doesn't mean they're not safe, just that no-one has PROVEN them to be safe.

Personally, I think common sense suggests any risks to inhaling food grade flavourings have got to be minimal or non-existent.

What is proven is that vaping is exponentially more safe than smoking.

Hi dropknee, I've been vaping just over 3 months now. And haven't come across any side effects so far.
But it has been noted by several people now, who have known me for years. That they don't hear me coughing anymore. I used to hack badly especially in the morning. (first fag time). But now only cough due to over vape.

Oh, actually - we have nicotine inhalers, so the nicotine is approved for medicinal use through inhalation as well

the only downside i have found to vaping is that rather than saving money, i am currently spending more due to V.A.D.
(Vaping Aquisition Disorder) although i have been told that given time that will pass ;)

LOL - who told you that?

Well 'they' didnt actually stipulate the length of time, so probably by the time i am dead, downside being, now i dont smoke i will live longer, so conversely i will suffer V.A.D. for a lot longer :(
Damn i am depressed now, better browse the web for more shinies to cheer me up!
