I have just taken delivery of an Aspire Zelos 3 and the tank is embedded in the battery compartment and cannot be removed no matter how hard I try. I have emailed Aspire,I have telephoned Aspire and nobody has responded to me. Does anyone have any idea as to how I might remove the tank from the battery or even any idea as to how I might get a response out of Aspire?

Do you mean screwed tight onto the mod?

Rubber gloves or a elastic band wrapped around base of tank for grip should help.

Hi @English Gentleman and welcome to the planet.

as said, sounds like a case of being screwed on too tight. and the simple solution most of us use is something with a rubber grip.

tagging @aspire to see if they will reply here.
they are based in china so might not get a reply until next week.

I hope these pictures will explain what I mean. I will try using something with a rubber grip - thank you to those who have replied.

so youve got the top and glass off but not the coil or 510 screw in base.
ive had similar with the nautilus 2 tank in the past but on a different mod.
the other option is to wrap an elastic band around the base then some paper towel to protect scratches and use a pair of pliers to see if that will losen it. it could have had a spill of juice thats got in the 510 screw connection that wont help.

as this is such a new kit im not sure if that is the coil on top. if so then if it needs changing due to being burnt out then a pair of pliers on the coil might get that out as damage to the coil doesnt matter as you will be throwing it away anyway.
then at least you can leave the base conneted and just screw a new coil in but not as tight as before.

Put ice in a plastic bag/ziplock bag or get a pack of peas or something and leave it on it for a few minutes. Metal shrinks a bit when cold and expands when hot so the more you try to unscrew things the harder it usually gets, had lots of tanks etc stick in the past and has always worked a treat when rubber gloves/pliers etc wouldn't budge stuff.

thats a new one. me will have to remember that :)

It must be cranked on there. If all else fails from the advice above if you have a pair of pliers and a heavy cloth/tea towel with not too much force applied in a snapping motion ty and get it released has worked for me in the past. I currently have the same issue with the Kriemhild 2 tank every time I try swapping it out to another mod.

Have a look around for one of these fellas. It has gotten tanks free for me before. They are a cheap piece of kit every vaper should have lying around for when situations like this.

In my former life I was a musical instrument repair technician, and we used this method all the time to loosen stuck valve caps on brass instruments, and it works well. Also sometimes you can very lightly tap it with a small rawhide mallet (a small 3d printed mallet will work, too) and it will make it just a touch easier to get loose. I would never recommend pliers unless there was a fairly thick bit of cloth around to cushion, and not leave plier marks on the atomizer.
