BBC video report: E-cigarette laws to change across EU

I find it interesting that the shop featured is still open and trading. Under current Belgian law, it's illegal.

It's not related to Belgium but I was surprised how much vape gear is available from spaincigar .es, I thought online sales and many of the products were banned, they have shit loads of decent gear at some good prices.

Basically, the government asks for opinions to make it seem like they're willing to listen to reasoned arguments but then disregard them and just do whatever the hell they want anyway.

yep, they couldn't care less wether vaping is good or bad, they just want to keep fleecing people for as much money as possible, or helping their friends to. The people who really control what policies are made will not worry if people die, they want to reduce the population anyway.

Look, let's face it, the Gov don't REALLY want people to stop smoking in serious numbers because the revenue loss would be a disaster. They don't want you to vape because it doesn't replace the lost revenue. All this is their own gateway to taxing our vape, ultimately. Controls first, then will come the taxes. Simples

Surely if they ban e-cig shops they should ban selling properly cigs first?

I never understand how they can go banning e-cig shops yet allow shops to sell tobacco products. I can't see them putting a total ban on them, maybe just so you can't advertise them openly so maybe e-cig shops will vanish off the high streets but online selling will be fine?

Either way, it's a load of rubbish. I have noticed a big difference since I quit the cigs and started vaping.

If they are banning advertising, why are BAT trailing the ifuse with view to launch? They won't be able to tell anyone about it...

It's a hybrid, basically, Nic juice vaped through tobacco. ~shrugs~

" The launch of the 'hybrid' cigarettes is seen as an attempt to provide a product that will be more attractive to smokers than straightforward e-cigarettes."

Or, yet another way to get vapers back on the fags...

Big tobacco are all over ecigs recently, at a time when they are going to be banned, the question is why? Why spend the money on product development?

They, in plain sight, have manoeuvred themselves into the strongest position possible.

Come may, I bet the only place you'll be able to get nic is from the fag counters. Provided by big tobacco/pharma of course.

BBC is just an unofficial government propaganda outlet. They tell you what the government wants you to believe.

Looking at the report, it appears the TPD regs in relation to vaping are going ahead, regardless of all the petitions, protests, scientific evidence gathering etc.

Basically, the government asks for opinions to make it seem like they're willing to listen to reasoned arguments but then disregard them and just do whatever the hell they want anyway.

Seems to me that government consultations are just 'moan sponges', designed to give a portal for the 'disgruntled' to air grievances....which will then be ignored.

sometimes i honestly wish i had the words you do.

i dont so i will say it my way. the big boys are looking after their pals end of,

One thing about the TPD that I found funny is that whilst it will be illegal to buy from UK store all these different tanks, you will still be able to import them for personal use. They are only limiting UK high street sales. If you can find any Chinese retailer that actually says its vape gear when they send it to you, i'd be surprised

TBH the TPD will only make people go to source and hand make their own juices. Rise of home brew...
