So proud, just gotta show off a little, hope you guys can get some inspiration or just trolling fuel :-)

Finally got the missing parts, buttons from DX, hammond 1950B case from Ebay vendor, DNA30 board from bargain vapours in Ireland( thanks guys, awesome service).
2 Gigantous 4000mah 26650(20A tot) Xtar batteries from a greek vendor. Oh and Shapeways for the display and USB cradle, Bapgood you're my hero.
To Finish it off, Fasttech flat SS chi you top cap, and a 1A USB charger from a UK vendor.

Surfacing, tried to polish it but damn, so hard to get it right, always some sandpaper scratches and such. Not to mention all the fingerprints when it was all shiny.
Decided on an Epoxy primer (car systems 2K Spray Epoxy Primer), and some regular acrylic grey metallic. Scratches a little too easily, but looks nice. Hammerite silver might be a better option if anyone else is considering painting.
Going to try that next time.

A detail that works exceptionally well, recessed tactile buttons. They simply cant be pressed unless you aim your finger into them. Can vape easily without accidentally changing the wattage.

Batteries were soldered together, risky move. DO NOT SOLDER BATTERIES is the usual advice.
If you have a powerful enough soldering iron with enough thermal mass you can do it in 2 seconds, then cool the site quickly.
Most people advise against soldering batteries no matter what unless you have an inductive spot welder especially made for this type of work.

BTW, anyone wanting to use hammond box, they are slightly beveled, you'll need to sand the top and bottom surface and edges so they're flat.
If you don't sand the top n bottom flat your 510 will be wonky and the whole mod will lean, very unstable.

Very nice. I've got me a couple of Hammond boxes coming. What did you use for the display frame? I need something for the volt meter on my next build. Thanks.
