Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul (on Netflix)

We are heading down the same road with youth getting their hands on disposables here, fortunately we don't have 50mg pods available like JUUL created. Didn't hear anywhere in the episodes how they arrived at that number.
There was a study years ago that reckoned that around 50mg was the closest to mimicking a real cigarette. How they arrived at that number, I don't know, because nicotine in vapour is absorbed at a different rate than smoke (but also nicotine salt is absorbed faster than freebase nicotine).

Also the Juul device only outputs 8w (and maybe only when fully charged), so needs a reasonably high nicotine level to be effective...

Watched the four episodes and to be fair they pretty much nailed how JUUL abused subversive marketing to youth, only a foam eating chimp would try to defend their practices. No wonder we ended up with the likes of PAVE throwing a hissy fit, what would you do in the same situation?

Not legal ones we don't but some of the news reports as well as the Panarama program showed 50mg black market disposables being sold here. Fortunately, under the counter vapes like those are a lot harder to find.

As regards those parents they interviewed I might well disagree with a lot of what they have to say but at the same time I can't blame any parent from having very strong emotional reactions against something they feel has caused their child to be seriously ill.

Did you notice that not one of those sex gremlins outright confessed to trying to surreptitiously vape THC in a doctored pod despite people dying from it? No wonder PAVE were losing their cool, but typically did what parents do, lashed out and blamed everything else but the actual culprit...

That's because they don't know enough about vaping to know what the real culprit is.

Part of the problem is there are idiots out there experimenting with what sort of substances they can vape and then those of us who do vaping the right way get all the resulting bad press because the media and anti vaping lobby don't know and don't care about the difference.
