From today's BBC news ...

I guess this is another battery bought from the ubiquitous "man down the pub" ... and yet again we'll get blamed and vilified for something when it's the carelessness and stupidity of one individual that caused it. :hmm:

Sorry, shitty week causes rant ...

See also: random USB plug used instead of a PC, left unattended and on a bed...

The devil is in the details, but - hey - it just demonises e-cigs further. This week, we've had a strong argument to not allow folks to buy e-liquid because it can kill puppies, and we've had more battery fire news which further supports the argument that "unregulated" devices should be banned. You might be inclined to think that there's some kind of agenda...

Probably one of those market stall vapers.. "My redbull juice doesn't taste like red bull but like acid and anthrax, how come?" types.

And then ask those people if they'll buy a laptop or phone battery off a market stall too.

I don't think there is a cure for stupidity.
Someone else who probably thought they had the bargain of the year, and smugly laughing about it!

Do not know the details how and where the battery in question was purchased from or charged, in 4 years of vaping i have had hundreds of units As a Reviewer and tester) , batteries and assorted stuff though, in the entire time I have had only 2 yes 2 batteries that had a crises, one was an eGo type and started smoking on charge (Belkin separate USB Hub powered) and the other was the infamous Vapro filmed committing the makes standard suicide self ignition / overheat . So far this week we have had a puppy die from munching on a Nic filled Carto and now this, I have emailed the BBC to ask for information one how many Puppies and Dogs have died from neglect or abandonment as well as how many fires and deaths have been caused by analogue cigarettes, i doubt i will get an answer however, i have pointed out to them that they are obliged to give a balanced report on events, i fail to see with the current reporting on E-Cigarettes where any balance is tbh.

And obviously all this has suddenly started to be reported since the MHRA and that ilk have started to state that E-Cigarettes should be fully controlled and under their remit... coincidence..i think not, first rule of an attack..divide your enemy( say perhaps think of the Children) , nullify their influence (possible ban on forums and advertising) and then attack (bring in legislation banning usage / sales) , it`s a tactic the powers know well .

I do know a little of the details of the fire in Poole as I live in Bournemouth. The missus came home yesterday a little worried about it - obviously I was able to pull apart the story and explain the lengths I have gone to to protect my home and family from such a fire (whilst also explaining that, in all honesty, battery fires can happen - even on mobile phones, etc).

It's pretty damn clear what's going on now in the media, and it's now beginning to boil my micturate. None of this is about safety or health; it's about ensuring that the inner circle of power and influence get their coin. I really do see a time when they try to stamp all this out and try to force people onto cig-a-likes. Boots and Lloyds stocking them is the start of what's to come, I fear.

I've got an idea........

Why not fucking ban stupidity? Its a trait that needs breeding out of the human race as fast as possible. If your too thick to do some research on a new piece of technology you shouldn't be using it, regardless of if its an ecig, laptop, electric car or whatever! Its not a fucking stick or a rock, it requires some understanding of it before you use it.

Fucking idiots who do something stupid then blame everyone but themselves really piss me off:banghead:
