I did have an rda and then decided to buy a new mod and ended up throwing my old bits out.

Can anyone recommend a good rda or another good way of vaping, rather then using this Smok tank the coils are just so expensive and last very little time.

I will however be using the smok mod i have, do not know if that will make vaping a rda less enjoyable ??

Any help thanks guys

RDAs provide better flavour because you are dripping ontot he coils directly. Are you looking for a mod and an RDA? an RDA is the be that has the coils in. An RDA will work perfectly on your SMOK mod but there are better mods. I currently have three RDAs I will give you some info about them.

1. Goon 1.5 is a direct airflow RDA this is where the air hits the coil directly but its possible to make it so the air hits the underside and central to the coil which provides more vapour. Its really simple to build on.

2. Bonza RDA this is a direct airflow RDA again really simple to build on

3. Digi flavour drop RDA this has a stepped airflow design allowing for both direct and up through the coils. It is also an RDA were the coils fit verticle into the post holes instead of the usual horizontal.

My favourite is the drop, then the goon.

Thanks alot greenbrucelee, yeah will most probably try and get the most out of this smok mag mod i have at the moment, as i paid like £80 4 it. So yes will use this mod.

But yes looking to order a rda tonight online, thanks for the info on those different three types. Hopefylly that can help me decide. What kind of price can i get for the ones you have mentioned ?

Also if im going to make the coils myself, what will i need in total for example, i think i need ohms reader. My perfereed wire cotton ect. Wouldn't i ?

Is it better to get a whole kit or buy separately. I probably need tools also im guessing ?

Thanks for your help.

You can buy a coil master kit which includes all the jigs and ohm meter. They can go for about £30 the RDAs I have two were brand new at £35 and the other was 2nd hand at 20. You will then have to buy wire. Crazy wire does good deals. I dont make my own coils as I dont have the time or the dexterity in my fingers so I buy premades. The premades you can buy will be good stuff and will last a lot longer than any coils you would get for a smok tank. I buy mine from advanced vape supply in the US as they only have stainless steel coils which I prefer as I vape in temperature control.

You will probably have to experiement with wire/pre made coils in the terms of material. I dont like kanthal which is the most popular type and I dont like nickel 200, I've never tried titanium but I like stainless steel and Ni80.

Hey man,
there's a load of decent RDAs out recently, both single and dual coil - as well as some classics deserving of attention like the Goon previously mentioned.

The Drop and the Recurve are both worthy of consideration, a dual and single coil RDA respectively - both are easy to build on and have great flavour.

RDAs use conventional coils rather than the coil heads you are used to with Smok - you can either build these yourself or buy them pre-coiled. Smut on here does great pre-built coils that can last months, a lot of the regulars on the forum here use his wares. You can also buy packs of pre made coils, there's plenty of options out there.

You'll need your own cotton, personally I use Cotton Bacon v2, readily available and simple to work with. Some good sharp scissors, needle nosed wire cutters, tweezers and a couple of decent small screwdriver will all come in handy.

You don't really need an ohms reader as your mod will tell you the resistance of the coil and stop you trying to fire anything unsafe. If you get into coil building one may come in handy, but not a requirement for you yet.

Thats great thanks alot for your information, really appreciate it.
Probably best i get a kit then, unless i do buy premades. Does it work out expensive for you buying premades all the time. Or still cheaper then tank coils for like smok or other tanks ? Ill have a look around and try and learn more. Maybe theres offers too where if i i buy kit and rda theres discounts. Will look at the US site. Probably take alot longer to deliver tho i would expect ?

Im hoping to get everything this week, with some nice e liquid to vape

Thank you for all your information.

O thats great, i i will try and contact smut on here once i have decided on a rda and then that way it be easier and cheaper then buying a kit at the moment i think. So single and dual coils are easier to start with ? So im guessing a single would be just one port either side dual two and so so on ? How do i get in to contact or look someone up, to get hold of smut ? Have you got his potv name.

Cheers pal really helps

For ease I'd start with a single coil rda, the recurve is really simple to get going :

Cut your coil lengths the right length, pop them into 2 of the 4 holes (1 on one side, one on the other) and tighten the grub screws on the side. Glow your coils at low power, strum them with tweazers gently until they glow evenly. Pop some cotton through the coil, done.

Smut is smut's forum name :) Just PM him (the envelope top right of the forum screen) and he'll sort you out.

I dont know if buying premades is more expensive than buying wire but its definetly a lot cheaper than using a tank with coils like smok coils. I have bought ni80 coils from smut before and they are really good but I prefer temp control and ni80 doesn't work in temp control. I use stainless steel which can be use in temp mode or wattage mode

If you buy coils from advanced vape supply they usually take about a week to 10 days to come unless you are prepared to pay for super fast delivery which I did once by accident and I had them in 5.

You can buy coil master kits from ebay for 25 quid

Thats great thanks for pics too really helps explain. I was thinking i may need to go for dual tho. Just because im used to quite high power. Well saying that i know you save battery on lower power dont you. But my old rda was dual so i may find a single not producing as much vapour as im used to. But im guessing recurve will do a dual or any other suggestion on a dual rda.

Btw just messaged smut so thanks, as soon as ive made a decision i will get some pre made coils and just some tweezers cotton. Rather then a kit as using pre mades then doing my own, i probaly wont need all the tools.

Cheers pal
