What's new

Can you mix an match mods and tanks??

Did you know that the galaxy is a tank where you have to build your own coils? and install the wicking material yourself?
Do you know how to do this?
If not your buddy has given you some poor advise.
Have a look at this and ask yourself if you could replicate it?
If the answer to any of this is no then put it back in the box for now.

Which would be a better tank to get then as I cant get my head around how to put this one together

That mod that came with your tank might be a better bet as it will have pre-made coils you just screw in. At least for now. There's a lot of information to take in when you start off, I think learning to build coils from day 1 would have been overwhelming for me.

Or take it down to your nearest vape shop and hope that the vape nerds there are feeling helpful!

as said, for now put it back in the box and put it aside for a few month to a year.

firstly did the coolfire come in a kit with a tank. if so try that tank.its usually a mello tank i think.
if it was not bought as a kit then read on.

you really need a tank that takes stock coils. buy 5 in a box, take base of and screw in and thats it.

few questions first though. the mod is fine as the coolfires are great simple mods.
how long have you smoked for.
how many a day and what strength cigs.
this will help advising on the strength of nicotine you would be best starting with.

what i gave up with after 37 years of 20-30 a day was a aspire nautilus. since the uk law has changed they are all 2ml in size now but the nautilus done the job for me with 18mg of nicotine. that was almost 4 years ago and ive not touched one since.

something like this https://www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk/tanks/aspire-nautilus-2-tank.html

@vapellie is right that tank would be better although without knowing the spec it may also be unsuitable if you want to replicate smoking.
With the tank you have probably recieved 2 coils.
Can you list what each of them say on them.
Theyll look like these.

Don't forget people he may not have been sold the kit. The shop may have called it a kit as they sold a rta with it.
If it was a proper kit then it would be the mellow and I'm sure both the coils I got were both sub ohm. I've never used it though.

If you did get the Coolfire as a complete kit, it will have come with one of the Isub tanks. Have a look at the vid below to see how to put it together, it's only short and simple. It's much easier to put a stock coil in, than it is to install and wick your own (I.e. in a rebuildable like the Galaxies).

So I've just bought a cool fire 4 box mod from amazon and it did come with a tank so I was recommended by a friend to get a galaxies MTL RTA tank, they've both arrived and I've put it together but it's saying "check atomiser". Ive just received it and I'm hoping it's not broken, any help is appreciated thanks!!

I'm older and wiser now (I think)
Firstly the answer to the question is yes, up to a point. Most mods and tanks, come with what's known as a 510 connector.
Going back to the above, it appears you have missed out the word "not", between did and come. So it should read did not or didn't come with a tank. Hence the reason why you have a build it yourself tank instead of a ready to go one. As it was recommended to you, but it's only of use if you know how to put it together. That involves coil building etc. as others have already mentioned.
So you will need a ready to go tank until you have learnt to safely build the RTA that you have.
As mentioned this is a good starter tank. https://www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk/tanks/aspire-nautilus-2-tank.html also here (sale item) http://myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/aspire-nautilus-2-tank-grey.html and sold other places.

As your new , and welcome to POTV, (forgot that bit) I would be inclined to stay clear of anything that says sub ohm for the time being.

I hope that helps a little more, and good luck.

well spotted Leni. it wasnt the mello tank but the isub. i totally forgot as i never used it and was out at the time so couldnt check the tank.

All pretty much covered by the apes above except the point that you may seriously have to reconsider your choice of friends.
Hope you get it sorted bud.
