Yes, I managed it!
I kept using the WD40, I used a LOT to allow it to soak since last night, but it was still stuck so I turned to some brute force.
I banged the mod against the side of the table, turning it around so I tapped all around the threads, tapping it very firmly against the table.
This finally broke the corrosion, and allowed me to unscrew the mod.
Now its time for the brasso to clean up the threads and get the mod firing like new
