I know I'm more than likely opening a massive can of worms with this but...….
I'm a noob to vaping and I'm already using RTA's rather than stock coils for dtl. I don't make my own coils, I have been buying the pre coiled(?) coils and muji cotton. My question is this, what is the difference between the millions of options when choosing my pre-made coils? I get some of it but does the style, gauge, material, inner diameter etc. add up to much of a difference? I understand a lot of it is personal preference but surely it can't matter that much, can it?

A much bigger can of worms than you might imagine [emoji1787] and yes, most is personal preference.

What I really want to know is, is it worth me going down the 'rabbit hole' of crazy builds? Or should II just keep it simple, stupid?

Oh yeah big can of worms :)

Like so many things vaping it's a lot of personal choice but if you want to play with different coils maybe get a Coilology selection pack. Has 42 coils of various style link here tho I am not saying buy them from here just used to show you

I tend to keep my builds semi simple using 24awg/32awg ss316 clapton wire and just cut a few inches of a make the coil myslf. Works for me but until you have a play you never know what you like. My next coil experiment is with N80 flatwire. Always stuff to learn and play with :)

Hmm Ninjad by Tazz damn next time I will be more stealthy..

That's ace thanks. I see they are all ni80. Is that the best? Or is that just opinion again? I've got a box of mixed kanthal coils and I've definitely noticed I seem to aim for the lower ohm coils without really knowing why

sorry I'm struggling to quote/reply properly as I'm on an ancient Smartphone.
tazd you're link was the same product matty recommended so I think I will give them a punt. I guess the only way to answer my question is to just crack on and learn on the fly. I've only been using an rta since Xmas so I guess this is the normal progression to owning dozens of rta's and lots of gear?

Yeah let's Punt Tazz :)
Undoubtedly it's the start of what is commonly known as Shinyitous. Having 2 3 4 or more mods is not unknown at all and 6 plus tanks RTA's etc is just as common. It's all about finding what works best for you and that does mean buying shiny things.
If you are going to experiment with different rdas RTA's then worth looking at Fastech, yes it means a small wait while it comes from China but saves a fair few quid..
