Commission a mod...?

Hey guys,

I'm not the engineering type... If my car needs fixing, I call a guy and he comes and fixes it. Likewise, if I need a mod I buy something ready made or try to find someone with the skills to create it. I have an idea for a mod and I'm trying to figure out if a) anything like it already exists or b) if someone is able to produce this mod for a modest cost.

Basically my plan is to try to get something which has a similiar size profile to the iTaste VTR, but which is pretty much a remodelled hip flask. In fact a nice old silver style hip flask could be quite simply adjusted for this right? Instead of the cup and pouring section, you have a nice cap which when removed reveals a protank 3, a nice flat button on the front of the mod. The shape of the hip flask would just be awesome for a powerful mod to fit into a suit... perhaps a VV/VW adjuster either on the bottom in a twist configuration..?

Any ideas guys? Just thought it would work really nicely with a suit - definitely a gap in the market here!

Hmm, It'd be do-able (not by me) but, for pure stealthyness I imagined this:
Removable bottom to change batteries (Screw fit would be the best idea) OR, Large enough batteries to not worry about it + Usb charging.
If you then have a simple + and - either side at the top instead of screw holes/rivet holes/whatever a decent hip flask has (mine' cheap), that could be used for voltage.
The voltage display, could be the problem because of the curvature. So, it'd either have to be a 'guesstimate', or, you'd need to find a way to keep the curve, but have a flat screen (Something like a curved bit of perspex maybe)?
So, what do we have so far:

Voltage adjustment
Removable/non-removable battery
Voltage display

We need a 510.
Now, all of the hip flasks I've ever seen, use a screw on top... Now, this could make it a very stealthy looking thing...
Basically:
If you have a heavily recessed 510 connector, you could use something like an XL carto... This means that if you want to, you can 'vape' out of the spout so it LOOKS like you're having a drink.
Switch wise, this is a problem. You need a master on off... So, a rocker type. This would ruin the look entirely.
So, if you could use something like a touch sensitive switch, hidden somewhere comfortable, (One that only picks up the touch from your finger, and not from pocket lining/keys'coins etc you could get around this.

Personally, for pure look wise, I'd scrap the VV/VW At first, and go for a basic mechanical style (It'll still have wiring, but will be an unregulated output.
OR, use ego electonics, giving a 3.7v output... AND the opportunity to use a USB charger if you buy a passthrough model (BEST AND EASIEST OPTION)

Just a few things to think about ;)

The only thing that springs to mind is that for stealth, something designed to hold spirits probably has its limitations - I mean looking like you're knocking back the whisky is probably not going to go down any better with the boss than vaping!
Love the design idea though

Or the police passing you driving along "swigging" from a flask.

The touch sensitive switch would be a nightmare, and expensive to replace when the units fried itself due to pressure from "X" item.

There are a number of mods already available that are small enough to fit in a small "Alkaloid" tin, have variable volts(based on a LM2596 IC)with a screen for readout included(mine was under £2 from eBay,though came via the slow boat from Asia)

The biggest issue is finding high-power batteries with small form-factors(though 18350's are small in length, just ate all the pies)

I was looking at these "battery holders" type things on FT,that held up to 4 x 18650's,had a USB socket output, idea being, stuff that in my pocket & plug-in a USB pass-through(I have one of these already)that changes voltage simply by multiple button presses.I could only find the chunky 4 battery variety though I'm sure if I searched harder, then they'll be available in a smaller form.

My present box mod is nothing more than an old baccy "tin"(made of plastic)with an old dead ego type connector pushed through a hole in the side, and a switch pushed through another hole.It runs 2 x 18650 batteries which would give me many hours of vaping(if the batteries weren't old recycled laptop batteries)As they are though, they still provide me with upwards of 6-8 hours depending on device attached to the ego adapter.

Just to clarify, it's not really for stealth, more for convenience and something which is a 'normal' shape.

I guess that the central 'pourer' section of the hip flask would need to be drilled out and a sunken connection bay (similar to how the VTR works) could be put in place to fit Protanks or some of the iClears.

The front could have an LED (again like the VTR) to show wattage/voltage, with a proper button beneath it, albeit that the button should probably be flush with the exterior of the case. Hmm, wondering if I should just put some sketches together, I can see exactly how the exterior should look in my mind, just no idea how to make it and put everything together lol.

Yeah I saw that, but for some weird reason, whilst the shape is right, they position the attachment for the tank on the end of the mod rather than in the middle where it should be. Also, no idea what the wooden idea is - for my money a hip flask should be made with a silver exterior.

What would be super amazing awesome would be to somehow adapt a geniune antique silver hipflask for the purpose. Hmm!

Hmm your review of 'the flask' crossed with my last post. That looks very much like what I'm after - any idea where it is for sale? Couldn't find it on their website...!

Did you watch the review? He didn't reckon much to it as you need suck hard to get it to work & that would bug me too.
