What's new

Confused, and shouldn't be

Lesson to self.... Don't doubt yourself with numbers when you you have A-level maths

Sorry, but this made me laugh. I'm guessing you got your A level in this century, because in the bad old days a 12 year old would have been expected to work out stuff like this.:D

Thanks hazard93
I got ok results with steam engine once I'd switched on desktop view and changed percentage to mg/ml (very strange)
At the risk of being cheeky, could you check steam engine for me if I wanted 75/25 vg/pg and 25% flavour, still at 3mg nic on a 10ml sample.
POTV is saying it's doable but steam engine not.
Thanks mate.
Mark.

No problem.

Not feasible mate. Due to their being no PG at -0.39. You could do it at 70/30 and add 0.1ml of PG. You'll have to drop down on either ratio or flavorings.

I'm actually trying to find out what number I'm entering wrong into an online calculator.
Do you know?

Thanks very much mate, I really appreciate your help and the fact that I didn't make you laugh
That's what I was getting so now know that I'm using that calculator correctly.
Have a good evening mate.

I have these moments often enough mate, I love at myself most of the time lol. No problem man!

lol hazard93
I'm going to stick with steam engine as I still can't get the POTV one to replicate the 0.1 pg needed result.
Think its something to do with the top slider (base ratio)
Thought 100% was right but obviously not.
Cheers again mate.

I'm not being rude, but my kids take the piss because I need two hands to write a text message, so this is a bit of revenge for my generation:

Why is someone with a math's A level using an online calculator in the first place and then being flummoxed by the result?

Well I'm sorry that I made you feel like taking revenge out on me.
I have no idea what "your generation" is, likewise you do not mine.
I also apologise if I've taken your posts in the wrong context.
As for using an online calculator.... ease (once you find out how to use it) ie the purpose of this thread.
Cheers.
Mark.

I take it You are entering the nic as 7.2% for base and 0.3% for required.
If you want to make VG heavy juices (above 70%vg) you will want to get your Nic base in VG rather then PG.
Then it is only the amount of flavouring you put in that gives the mix any PG. (Unless of course you are using VG Based flavours)

Previous quote "At the risk of being cheeky, could you check steam engine for me if I wanted 75/25 vg/pg and 25% flavour, still at 3mg nic on a 10ml sample. "

This is where you would need VG Nic Base. The reason One calc says good and the other not is because one has option to select pg/vg for nic and the other just doesn't care
I would use the steam coil one as you can set the base as vg or pg.
