Confused where to start.com

Thanks for contributing to this thread everyone, I have learned loads just from your comments (I have also got wet in the pouring rain visiting Boots which was closed and Wilkinson for my water which was sold out), lol

You can pick up 5ml syringes for 50p at any pharmacy. Just ask for an oral syringe or if you get the calprofen (I think its that one) for babies you normally get a free syringe with them....and you still have the medicine ready for when you need it :38:

It`s a serious point that bryan made about the purity of the diluants....always double check, then check again to be sure it`s definitely the correct thing you`re buying, and if you`re still not sure, ask.

There was a forum thread from a while back where someone either asked about, or actually bought some di-propylene glycol - which is not the right stuff, but an easy mistake to make if not paying too much attention.
After a bit of discussion & checking it all came out in the wash - but could have had some implications if it hadn`t been picked up on...

..and the quality grades as well of course that have to be taken into account.

it`s always worth double checking.

If you are really serious about saving money on syringes, go to one of the suppliers to the NHS who sell on line. I bought a mix of 1ml, 5ml and 10 ml syringes, with drawing needles and my unit price for a syringe with needle, including P&P and delivery was 18.5p. I was talking to one professional mixer, who buys even more cheaply.

However the only place I have found 14 gauge drawing needles is LF and if I woulld like some 10 gauge ones to deal with VG.

But, starting off, I wouldn't buy bulk and LF is fine; the time to save costs is when you have established that you want to carry in DIY mixing and have some flavours that you use a lot. Even buying small quantities of base and dilutants you should save money over commercial vapes. The quality of flavours is the key and these are relatively inexpensive. If you really don't like a flavour - you've lashed out a few quid - and should be able to afford to live with that because you will be effecting savings over buying commercial product.

And I still buy commercial product. The better mixologists are ahead of the game and I still buy from HoL and Pixiejuice and make the occasional purchase from Vapist. I am looking forwards to trying a few other great mixologists output too.

I just remembered I could get 5ml syringes from a pharmacy from when the little one wouldn't take it from a spoon. It was just taking a while using 1ml syringes so I have 5ml for the base and diluent and 1ml for flavours.

That is cheap! I think when I have a larger collection of DIY bits that's definitely something I will look into. Just building a flavour shopping list at LF ATM I have about £30 worth so far and that is my limit this month + 75ml of base from CIG liquid as my OH is going to Scotland next week which will cost me just short of £340 just to pick her up

You could pop into Alba Vapours and make a few purchases. I am sure your OH would appreciate that you were just doing it to save the money on postage.

I was looking on ebay last night and found a seller who specializes in medical equipment and was selling various syringes and drawing needles in packs of 10, all sealed etc. will have another look later and report back on price, gauge etc

I'd be interested in drawing needles that were bigger than 14 - 10 gauge would be ideal - with a luer slip fitting. :)
