This is most probably a really silly noob type question, but is it possible to disassemble a Vamo V3 and convert the innards into a personalised box mod?

How difficult is it to get the pcb and switches out of the body?

I'm using the V3 as an example as it's reasonably cheap and plentiful.

I've had a look at buying the various component separately and whilst there is a cost saving it's not huge and at least I'll know that all the bits worked together in the first place!!!

There don't seem to be any places selling a complete 'DIY box mod kit' anywhere which seems strange to me. I thought there'd be a market for this kind of thing...

Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

You'd probably be better off spending a few extra pounds on a dna30 board rather than mangling up a vamo. What's a poor defenceless vamo ever done to you? ;-)

Sent from somewhere just south on our nations capital.

Thanks Seedy but the DNA 30 boards are quite pricey and I'd rather give go with a really simple build or 'conversion' before attempting something more complicated, if you know what I mean?
Once I'm more familiar with the process a more challenging build will be planned!

I really like the idea of making my own mod but for me it's a matter of starting off small before attempting something that if it goes wrong will put me off trying again

I'll keep my eyes open for your vapour clouds around Kent!

That's very cool.
How are you finding that battery / cell?
I'll probably be starting off with a metal box mod. I don't think I have the patience to work with wood!

Thanks for that!
That looks like a nice cheap way to start!
Would I be correct in thinking that you could swap the battery holder in that kit for a single 18650 and it would still work ok? Obviously a different box would be used.
