What's new

Coronavirus UK Daily Statistics

Sooooo the inflated COVID case figure from yesterday is a clusterfuck...

the near 13k cases that everybody is crapping themselves over
12,871 is really just over 7k
with the 5,801 cases being spread over last week's figures
which is still odd that 28th September has still 4,662 cases

but anyway it is 7,070 cases not the 12,871 cases

7,070 new cases and 49 new deaths in the United Kingdom. NOTE: the 12,871 cases reported today included a backlog, which Worldometer has redistributed historically based on the testing date information provided for the 10,806 cases reported by England today and the official note provided by the UK Government: "Due to a technical issue, which has now been resolved, there has been a delay in publishing a number of COVID-19 cases to the dashboard in England. This means the total reported over the coming days will include some additional cases from the period between 24 September and 1 October, increasing the number of cases reported."

Again it is 5:38pm and normally they release the daily BS figures
between 4:00pm & 5:00pm
Last nights balls up wasn't released until 8:38pm

So they really are just winging it and not got a scooby fucking doo

22,961

Fiasco over Covid count: Row as UK's coronavirus cases leap 22,961 in a day sending the total soaring past 500,000 after a 'computing glitch' delayed reporting - as another 33 deaths are confirmed
  • Latest figures for today show there were 22,961 new cases and 33 deaths in UK
  • It follows a big jump in cases yesterday when 12,800 Covid cases were recorded
  • But it has now been revealed that 15,000 missed cases have been added to data

Monday 5th October update:

a further 57,000 positive case results have been discovered down the back of the sofa
along with a TV & Sky remote, £3:59 in loose change, pair of spectacles & a few pens
this is believed to be down to a cleaning error

No update on the missing set of keys, but are hopeful the tracing app will be effective (at some point)

All this BS started on the 24th September - when the app launched
so they have been using the app's data to calculate figures and it's gone a bit squiffy

"The impact of this issue on Test and Trace. None of these positive cases have been contact traced, so Test and Trace is now dealing with a substantial backlog. One contact tracer says they greeted the news with "dread".

An impact for Test and Trace is actually an impact for everyone. More than 15,000 people have gone untraced at a moment when the virus is spreading fast - and the vast majority of those will now be too late to catch in time. England's most important defence against the virus was bypassed by an internal error.

We now know that the coronavirus figures have been drastically underestimated for over a week. The effect of this issue may yet last longer.

I'm told a "serious incident" was declared in Test and Trace yesterday. With so much at stake, serious is definitely the word."

World beating for all the wrong reasons.
