@ForestMagpie your spot on with your assessment of some people, they think they are immune to this virus, I will be honest, I have just come out of hospital with heart failure and pneumonia plus I have copd and I am honestly shit scared of this virus. I am due for a MRI next Wednesday and I am thinking of cancelling it because of the virus. I mean there are loads of people and patients in a hospital and anyone you pass by could have it, it's really made me paranoid. I don't know how you other guys feel but this is some scary shit going on.
Do not cancel - call and speak to the consultant’s secretary. Ask them what would be best. They will be reviewing MRI tests at the moment. Some will be cancelled, some will be imperative. A number of cardiology departments are looking to relocate their MRI equipment to ensure patients do not come into contact with COVID patients.I will ring them up on Monday and cancel, like you say it's not worth the risk. Being at home is the only place I feel safe.
You aren't alone. My wife runs (along with other stuff) the cardiology unit at our General, and your view is commonplace at the moment. The opinion I posted wasn't mine, but her's as I read your post to her.@Mawsley I am honestly up in the air about the appointment but thanks for your input. I for one am scared of this virus and coming into touch with people who quite honestly must have a death wish, they show little regard for other people which in it's self is scary. I am one of the people who respects the idea of social distancing and being agoraphobic means I usually don't mix with people a great deal. I will wait and see what happens, I know I need to have this scan but would much prefer to have it when the virus has some kind of cure or at least know I am going to be safe.
