Covid anti-lockdown protest

I never thought i'd see the day when an open minded person like yourself would be calling for jail time for people expressing their right to protest in a so called Free Democracy, The Tories and the Mainstream Media have definitely succeeded in Frightening the vast majority of the population into submission !!! This country is well and truly fucked, and when the time comes, and you realise that this has been utilised as an experiment in mass control, you will only have yourself to blame !!! No one denies there is a Virus that is killing the Old and the infirm, but the notion that locking everyone else up, ruining the economy, and destroying thousands of small businesses, plus damaging the mental health of young and old alike is ludicrous !!! I really do despair at the moment, if they sent lorries to take you for a little drive, there would literally be people pushing their way to the front of the queue !!!
Dude - these are tories in power. Their driving force is money and a strong economy - that they are destroying it all for control is a truly non sensical argument to my mind.

Its why Boris has been so shit to close things down faster - they are tories they don’t want the economy to go down.

think what you like about tories - the one thing that is true is they want the money, this is not getting them it.

Also - if you think the gov is just doing it as an excersise in control, you must also beleive that either -

a: they also control the vast majority of other countries as well or
B: there is a global conspiracy.

come on Hazz! That is dangerously close to flat earth - you can do better!

The final part of my deleted comment is that I’m feeling pretty raw about this as a result of seeing it impact on my wife and her colleagues. Which made me think I may have made unwarranted comment.

I’ve said all I’m saying on the matter.

.... and above anything else, what all politicians want is voters. Ask Boris how he thinks that's going, when he dreamed of being PM I'm pretty sure he didn't expect it to be like this and his legacy will not be what he wanted either.

If you read my post more carefully, you would see that I'd said, they had "Utilised" the virus to exercise an experiment in population control, I have never once denied the Virus or the Deaths of innocent people, I have questioned the figures, because of the dubious way they are being correlated, and the innacuracy of the PCR tests, and as for a strong economy, Boris and his chums are making a fortune out of this pandemic, and the recession caused by needless lockdowns ( in my opinion ) is a very handy smokescreen for the fallout from Brexit, The money they are handing out will be paid by us, the Taxpayers, and not the Government, and Finally, "Flat earther" is a lazy low blow in my opinion Martin, Unfortunately anyone who questions the narrative in this woke society we live in today, is a conspiracy theorist, or an anti vaxxer ( which I'm not) or just a Nutjob !!!

If that's true then what do you conclude?

To me it looks like it has made more people angry towards the government than ever. Anti-government, anti-police and even anti-democracy sentiment has never been higher. To the point where I think it's actually quite frightening.

What answer are they looking for in conducting the experiment? ... and what answer do you think they will conclude? I don't really understand the narrative to be honest.

especially not in the context of hospitals being on the verge of collapsing and the staff in there at their overloaded and at their wit’s end. i dread to think what would have happened if they’d just carried on as normal as was rumoured to be their plan at the start. mind the herd immunity thing?

..... unless the tories are actually anarchists that secretly want to bring it all crashing down.

Judging by the main consensus on this Forum, no one is anti government, but they are certainly anti democracy. in fact everyone seems to be applauding their Draconian measures, so I'm not sure who you are referring to, but I don't think even the Tories could have envisaged how easy it would be to convince everyone to sit in their homes, regardless of their age or the state of their health, and totally cut themselves off from their loved ones and friends.
The crime rates must have plummeted in the last 12 months, especially with the pubs and clubs being shut or on short hours, I don't like to think about what their endgame is, but if they tell us all to lockdown again in the summer, and again in the winter, the majority of people will blindly do it !!! It means nothing to me personally, because I haven't been locked down, I've worked throughout, I shop and go for walks and bike rides on my day off, and I visit my kids and grandkids and stand in the garden to talk to them, my Mother died on the first day of lockdown in March last year ( no sympathy expected or wanted ) and I honestly think it was a blessing, because she would not have made it through last year with her mental health intact, couped up in her flat on her own !!!
