Judging by the main consensus on this Forum, no one is anti government, but they are certainly anti democracy. in fact everyone seems to be applauding their Draconian measures, so I'm not sure who you are referring to, but I don't think even the Tories could have envisaged how easy it would be to convince everyone to sit in their homes, regardless of their age or the state of their health, and totally cut themselves off from their loved ones and friends.
The crime rates must have plummeted in the last 12 months, especially with the pubs and clubs being shut or on short hours, I don't like to think about what their endgame is, but if they tell us all to lockdown again in the summer, and again in the winter, the majority of people will blindly do it !!! It means nothing to me personally, because I haven't been locked down, I've worked throughout, I shop and go for walks and bike rides on my day off, and I visit my kids and grandkids and stand in the garden to talk to them, my Mother died on the first day of lockdown in March last year ( no sympathy expected or wanted ) and I honestly think it was a blessing, because she would not have made it through last year with her mental health intact, couped up in her flat on her own !!!
Personally I don't know anyone who's "applauding their Draconian measures" so I guess that's why I don't see it that way. Everyone I know is thoroughly pissed off. Members of my family have lost jobs, not because they were happy to stay at home but because the businesses when to shit.
