Just going through my rc gear and I've got a lot more lipo packs than I remember. Their all low output compared to todays tech - 25c constant 35c burst but still more than enough for our puny powrr demands.

Anyone got some leads on inexpensive 20+ amp dc - dc converters. Must be able to take at least 12.6v input (most I've looked at can do that).

All I need to find now is my other lipo charger as the two I've easily found dont have balance charhe connections and I know I have one that does. I'll make cradles for parallel charging round cells and they will also be ideal for parallel cell box mods like dna based builds (boring) or mosfet builds as I can just incorperate a surface mount charging connector if I wish. Or a better bet will be to stick with deans connectors and a removable lid.

Whats prompted all this is dragging out my rc car ti show the toddlers. If I can just find my spare male deans I'll be forcing 12.4v through the 480 can motor, ive got a few spares to burn out before I ger a brushless set up for it....

So far, my search for ready built dc dc boards to handle high currents has been a total failure(they all seem to think 3 amps is high)so I took to forum searching and found several modders creating 10, 16,20 plus amp capable devices and these require nothing more than access to soldering irons and the Internet to source the components. Farnell are due stocks of NAOS Raptors, the rest of the components can be recycled or purchased new. My present box mod has 4 X 1000 mah lipos switched via a mosfet and lasts 30 hours from a charge whilst powering a 0.3 ohm RDA.
