Hi guys!

I spent last night flatting and polishing a Hammond 1590b, it's got a bit to go but looking good so far.

As for my dilemma.

I want to build a series 26650! What do people think?

Other options include parrallel 26650

Okl t10 or raptor 10a.

Really want something simple and clean. To match the exterior and I think the series would look the best.

Has anyone tried squeezing the 26650 keystone into the 1590b before?

To answer, with a bit of fettling the Keystone 26650 sled'll slot right in, personally I'd go series (which happens to be my next prototype) as it'll be cleaner than the rest, the only wire you need at the bottom is a jumper for the contacts, the rest you can manage above the sled.

That's gonna be a tight build, considering you have about 50mm in width and 30mm in height to play with. That has to fit all the components in that space, Raptor, 510, button, potentiometer being the main large things. I'm not saying it's not possible, it's just going to be very fiddly build with a lot of planning as to where you're going to place components and what parts to buy. I mean I build really tight series boxes in the G enclosure, those are fused and have a Volt meter, and that took me buying samples of various components to get right. Personally, to save space I'd be looking at the stealthvape v3 510 when it arrives, for now a low profile Fat Daddy v4 does the trick (a little longer and the positive pin takes space away when an Atty is on) and getting a miTEK button from Seedy over at Modmaker, awesome buttons and really low profile.

There's my 2 penneth, I'll go crawl back in my hole now...

I will get back to you in a bit! :)

I'd say ditch the 26650 and stick with 18650. Bigger cells don't perform better, they just last a bit longer.

I am going to mount the pot (same size as the hexohm so should be a nice small size) and voltmeter to a carbon cover that will fill the top of the box above the sled (if that makes sense) and if there is room mount the slide switch in there too!

Good thing with that is the wiring won't have to be overly pretty.

I went with the fdv v4 low profile I have on my hulk as it doesn't take up too much room.

I know it's going to be a squeeze but I really want an on the road mod that still has a bit of oomph!

If it doesn't fit I will swap it out for an 18650 sled and then build a 26650 mosfet later!

Really appreciate the advice though guys! I will post pics as I go (if I remember)

With Seedy on this one. Go 18650, 26650 on a Raptor really doesn't make much difference, unless you really want the battery life. That way, you get more room for activities..

Ok you may have swayed me. As I have the stuff on order how about a 18650 in a g box? The 10a is quite small and if I am careful with my wiring I should be ok. Still not much room though!

And a series 26650 mosfet in a b box!

It's possible and that's basically what a HexOhm is.

That's the only way you're gonna get a 26650 Series xD
