Dilly Dallying - Here's where I'm at with products......

Don’t have a BB but they look cool especially on a black bb
I don't suppose you have experience with PETG?

First attempt failed miserably, tried a few setups but most failed and curled up or curled up and gunked up the hotend.
Just trying again but already failing on bed adhesion at 70c and slightly higher Z level than for PLA.

It's doing my head in, it would be the perfect material for a lot of projects but I can't fine tune it to work.

Yeah took me a while but print slower then pla bed temp was about 60 when I get a chance I will have a look at settings I’m tired up with one of the girls wiggling and crawling everywhere at the moment.

@Vapaneezer Scrooge

PETG
Initial Z adjustment set to -0.15
Bed 90˚c Sorry told a porky with bed temp
Extruder 210˚c
First Layer Height 0.30
Normal Layer Height 0.15
None of the speed settings are above 35mm/s
First Layer Speed 20mm/s

Every brand is slightly different but I hope that helps. If your bed has a buildtak type surface and you can't get it off let it cool down completely on the bed and then heat the bed back up and try removing from about 60˚c.

Hope that helps a bit mate

Just thought that it might have been with a plain glass bed then so just lower your z height gradually

I can't maintain my glass bed to 90c without making an enclosure, I managed to print a drip tip at 70c but when I tried a panel it was a mess, first 5 or 6 layers were perfect but once the infill started it was a mess of over extrusion and warping.

My speed was at 50mm/s so I will have another go with your settings to see if that helps thanks, hopefully the lower bed temp will hold.

You could try bed temp lower after first layer, and lower heat of extruder after first layer now you will be going slower so may not need it as high.

It also sounds like your retraction settings may need adjusting for PETG.

Started another print, after 3 hours it got to the infill and that's when the trouble started, poor layer adhesion and started to curl, shame as it was near perfect up to then.

That said I think I'm going to bin the PETG for now, 12 hours print time for 1 panel so 24 hours a set!

Back to PLA for me.
