Prompted by buying the last of my freezer stockpile I did some sums to see how much ten years of juice will cost me.

I vape about 30ml of 0.5% nic juice with about 5% or 6% flavour. (Yes that is less flavour than most people use)

Over ten years I require if I assume 33ml/a week
15L of vg/pg assumed price £8 a litre (can be bought cheaper) =£120
1L flavour assumed price £3/10ml (more than I usually pay)=£300
1.2L nic based on what I just payed =£70

So my juice costs work out at £490 for ten years or £49/year or 94.2p/week

If you have not tried it yet especially if you have not got a lot of cash you should consider it.
If you like your flavours strong it will cost you more. Most people use from two to four times more than me.
If like me you think taxes and restrictions are on the way after the TPD is implemented next spring then the sooner you start building up a stock the better.

Of course read the info about safety and nicotine storage on the mixology section if you decide to give it a go.

Great post. I've been meaning to start due to financial difficulty, so I mixed my very first batch last night.. 5 x 10ml's to see how it went. One I made was blueberry ice cream and this morning I couldn't resist trying it and it already tastes fantastic, can't wait to try the others in a week or so.

So it went well, and hopefully by next year I will be capable of sustaining my own juice habbit should I need to!

Tempted to start stockpiling myself. I understand storing the nicotine in the freezer, but how do you store PG/VG and flavourings? Do they go in the freezer as well?

How far in advance do you make your juices for? A month in advance? 3 months?

It depends on how long your juices take to steep.
I find my fruity/baccy mixes are good after a few days so it is often less than a week before I run out I will mix 2 or 3 100ml batches so thatt will last me two or three months.
I would not bother storing much more than a years worth of pg or vg or flavours.
I do keep my flavours in a box in the fridge as well as some pg/vg
My process involves mixing my pg and vg together and adding the nic and flavour on mixing days.
If I have more than a few months worth some of these bottles will be in the freezer.

I've read around and can't find an answer on this one.

I have 2 x 50ml's of 72mg nic. Since I'm using 0.8ml per 10ml juice mix (6mg) I figure it's going to cover my 1ltr of vg nicely.

1ltr of juice assuming I like everything I make is going to last me months, so how should I store it all? Right now it's in a closed box on the 'high shelf' in my office behind 2 stairgates, and really don't want to have to put it in my fridge. Garage would be an option if cold is necessary.

Obviously not talking about stockpiling, so sorry to detour the thread. I read somewhere that nic has like a 2 year life at room temp but haven't really looked in to it.

Have you read this http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/f...ogy/5682-how-long-can-you-store-nicotine.html
Unless you are keeping it for more than a year, a cool dark place is ok.
