Hi guys.

Do some flavours carry more throat hit by nature?
I ask as I've mixed some cactus soda at 15% (cactus soda is orange and pineapple i think) and at 50/50 the throat hit is quite strong compared to other juices i mix at 50/50

I read in the review section the review on capellas golden pineapple and the poster also noted the throat hit was quite strong and had to drop his wattage.

So do some flavours (pineapple for example) carry more throat hit by their nature than others?

I can vape 50/50 happily at 15w in a kayfun, but this juice mixed at my normal 50/50 ratio I've had to dial down to 11w, is it possibly due to the pineapple content?

The simple answer is yes, vaping flavours in a dripper at low ohms and you can't help but notice that some flavours hit you in the throat more than others. Citrus and menthol are two I have noticed, there are probably more, I am fairly new to vaping.

Will it effectively cancel out the extra throat hit if i go further vg heavy?

mostly yes ... but some flavours CAN cut thru the VG just fine ... experimentation is the key!

tip : take notes .. nothing worse than getting it bang on .. then forgetting how much of what you added

Nice one, cheers mate.
It's not unpleasant by any means, it's quite a refreshing flavour, just the throat hit caught me by surprise for a 50/50 mix, then when i read the review on capella golden pineapple i was wondering if there is a bit more to the pineapple flavours than meets the eye.

I make notes about all my mixes, be it percentage, ratios, nic content, added em or sweetener. Mainly because my memory is so crap by the time I've mixed and shaken it, i forget what to write on the label :D

Yeah, I've noticed this too. Liberty Flights Apple Pie is one that kicked me in the throat. Was pleasant for about a week but then started to get so strong that I couldn't vape it anymore. Still haven't worked out why.

I wonder if it's to do with artificial flavour composition, rather than natural flavourings?

Apple, cherry and citrus seem to be prime candidates - high in citric and malic acid perhaps?

I've found most tobacco's i've tried, save for RY-4, have more throat hit than most other flavours.
