Does anyone need hand sanitizer?

Just as a public service announcement, hospital grade hand sanitiser can be made easily at home by anyone for about 8p per litre. 250 litres for less than £20.

You need to order one litre of Benzalkonium Chloride (BAC50) for about £18.50 delivered to your door. It used to be about £10 a litre, but unsurprisingly has gone up a bit recently. Readily available online.

When you get it, take 20ml of the BAC 50, put in a 1L bottle and then top up to 1L with water. You now have 1% Benzalkonium Chloride. (BAC1). Do not use this to clean your hands with. Be careful doing this as the raw BAC50 will burn your skin.

Then take some of the BAC1, put it in a "foamy soap" bottle and dilute with 4 more parts of water. Add a little PG or VG to moisturise. You now have hospital grade foaming hand sanitiser. (It works just fine without the foaming bit). Add some essential oil or vape flavour if you want a nice scent.

This stuff costs less than 10p per litre to make at home. Dont let people rip you off for hand sanitiser!



EDITED TO SAY: I am not in any way trying to diss the OP here as I am sure he is honestly providing a good service, but his offer works out at about £32 a litre.....plus P&P. vs under 10p a litre made up at home. You will need your own bottles though if you go the home made way - but you may have those already.

Are there any members of this group that are struggling to get, and need hand sanitizer? One of our suppliers has stock at wholesale sizes/prices that I’m more than happy to purchase on your behalf and ship them out to everyone if there is enough of you that want it.

I’m not looking to make any profit at all from this, this offer is literally just to help keep my customers safe. I’m all to aware that this stuff is near on impossible to find anywhere right now for sensible money, so if anyone is interested please let me know. This is how it’ll work...

1) Postage - this will make the price a rip off on one single bottle at £3.90 postage (that’s the actual cost not including packaging to send you guys a parcel) so it makes sense to stick them in with orders if you’re ordering (happy to keep them aside for you until you’re ordering next).

2) order size - have as many bottles as you like but we need to buy 48 bottles (one box) minimum. So we need to get to that amount between us all if this goes ahead.

3) time - they are ready to ship next week from my suppliers.

4) price - as I said, I’m not interested in any profit at all from this, they will be cost price to my customers. I have absolutely no interest in stocking these online or selling them on eBay etc. The price quoted (picture for proof from the WhatsApp message in the comments) is £1.60 plus VAT for a 60ml bottle which is £1.92 each.

5) how to order - first we’ll see if there is enough interest to buy a box to split between us all, if there is I’ll ask you to send payment via PayPal for the cost of the hand sanitiser only. Then we’ll just stick them in with your next juice order.

I’ll do some workings out on the weights for shipping etc to see exactly how much a parcel of 10+ a few bottles of juice are going to cost etc. Because the weights and RM shipping prices get a bit pricey over 1kg so I’m going to have to be a bit careful I’m not shafting myself by offering this haha.

Please read the following carefully;

I’ll place the order for this first thing Monday morning to guarantee our stock. Understand I am paying for this from my personal debit card, so please ensure you payment has been made by Sunday evening.

When you pay for your hand sanitizer you’re paying for the product only, the price you pay does NOT cover shipping costs, on the understanding we’ll simply stick them in with your next juice order. When you place your next juice order, please use the same name at checkout that’s registered on your PayPal (eg not your partners name) else we’ll have no idea who you are and your sanitizer will not be put in your order.

Well now ask you to pay the cost detailed at the end of this post to cover your sanitizer via PayPal Freinds and family to my personal account (else I’ll get shafted for all the PayPal fees).

Shipping of your sanitizer - the situation is we place the order Monday morning, the suppliers say they’ll have it with us Thursday at which point we can ship on to you. I’ll post a update when it’s arrived. You can then place your usual juice order when you’re ready and I’ll ensure the sanitizer goes in with your order.

Understand that 10-20 bottles of sanitizer is heavy. And heavy parcels are expensive. Please think carefully about how many bottles of juice you’re ordering on your next order as the profit we make from juice will essentially be absorbing your extra postage costs. For example, 20 bottles of hand sanitizer and then one single bottle of juice - I’m going to go a loser to the tune of hundreds in postage if everyone done it. I’m not saying everyone has to order boat loads of juice but please be considerate, most people’s regular orders will cover it, for example 3 or 4 bottles to hit the free postage limit.

In short - please pay over this weekend and then we’ll give you the nod when they arrive so you can place your juice order at your leisure, there is no rush. Whenever you’re ready. If you order your regular order postage will be free and we can absorb the cost of shipping them to you free.

Please do not place your juice order until we have told you the hand sanitizer is with us, because it’ll be a nightmare having 50 parcels half packed knocking around the unit - please make this easy for us and follow the above [emoji846]
