Dreamer contact pin

Has anyone done a voltage drop test using the two different contact pins on the dreamer mod? Mine came installed with the knurled pin but compared to the supplied flat faced pin I can't decide which has the overall larger contact surface area . Also curious to see if the so called arc reduction knurled contact is just a gimmick

IIRC the Vaping Biker did voltage drop comparisons across the range and including both contacts on youtube. Don't recall there being a significant difference.

I get arcing with both pins, much reduced since adjusting the pin protrusion/throw.

Edit: it is indeed on youtube as above. The difference in V drop is 0.01-0.04 V for the dimpled and flat pin, the flat pin always with the lower drop.

I believe the theory is that you get lots of mini arcs with the pointy pin, each at a fraction of the energy in a single arc from the flat pin.

Ah now that makes sense I suppose. I'm gonna get the multi meter out and check the drop myself, right after that I'll go and get a life

Which Dreamer did you get mate?

I`ve noticed little difference in power between the pins myself but arching wise it was more noticeable on the flat.

I went with the stainless (a bit more hard wearing for work). I put the knurled pin back in and for me it seems to hit better

There's nothing like a bit of bad news to brighten up the day ;D. I know the stainless is the lesser conductive material so expected a little less performance

Yeah basically that mate - I have been getting mad hot button and warm tube issues on my SS version, doubled down and bought a Black Copper versions (in for a penny and all that) and with the exact same build there are zero issues. . . . .
