Hi guys, looking for some advice.

I have purchased some base and aroma to make my own e-liquids.

The base is already made up with 3mg nicotine in a 10PG/90VG setup. There is no need for it to be watered down or have anything but flavour added. The aroma says it is a 10% mix ratio (purchased various flavours).

The guy in the store said you just use the base liquid and add a few drops of the aroma to it, mix it and vape away.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how many drops should be added?

I'm afraid if there is any other information required from the bottles that might be a little difficult as it's written in Dutch and the translation is not exactly perfect.

It's largely to preference, but if they suggest 10% - I'd go with 1ml flavour to 9ml base. Some people mix by weight others by volume with syringes...

yup - grab a syringe say 5ml if possible
the smaller the better for accuracy - try measuring 1ml in a 50ml syringe, yeah good luck

look in say medicine cupboard, some kid's medicines came with a 5ml spoon or sometimes a syringe
(for squirting rank medicine into the little brats throat that won't take minging medicine)

Or buy a few syringes with blunt tips/needles on ebay like used for printer ink refills
(long blunt needle handy for reaching into near empty bottles)

the small thin syringes are more accurate and the 10ml is perfect for refilling & reusing the std 10ml bottles with my ADV

have a look in medicine cupboard, or order up a few syringes
think they say about 20 drops is equal to 1ml but don't quote me and this varies on the size of tip/nozzle being used
(a mofo size tip will have much bigger "drops" than a tiny thin needle tip on another bottle so this drop(s) measure is a bit vague)
1ml "could" be 20 drops in one bottle or 30 drops from another bottle - syringe is best bet for measuring tiny amounts

Buying ready mixed base is not always a good idea.
You're now going to add flavourings which will dilute the nic strength and alter the pg to vg ratio.
As posted above but the more flavourings you add the more it will dilute.

It sounds to me like a KISS kit for starting out on mixing your own, so keep it simple! Don't sweat the small stuff, just mix 9 parts of the base with one part of flavouring (aroma).

How big is the bottle of premixed base that you've got? Is there enough to make lots of 10ml bottles up and do you have these bottles to hand? Start out with 20 drops = 1ml and if the flavour seems a bit weak then add a few more drops.

I don't mind reducing the nicotine strength as i am trying to cut it out entirely.

Thank you for the replies, i'll read through them fully after my dinner :)

@scrumbox The premixed base bottles are 10ml. The aroma bottles are 10ml as well.

I'm currently using a SMOK R-KISS mod (maximum wattage 200) with 0.2 ohm, 70-120watt (105 best) coils.

Adding flavourings will dilute the nic strength but only slightly in this instance

if you add 10% flavour it will drop 3mg to 2.7mg aprox - not a massive drop
if you add 10% PG flavouring the it will alter the VG/PG mix about the same
a 60VG 40PG will go to a 54/44 ratio - not a massive difference but worth pointing out

The real issue is if/when you create your ideal ratio in a 0mg base
then added lots of PG nic (say making a 12mg nic) & say 15% plus PG flavourings etc.....
then yes the ratio will alter way more so you'd need to start with a higher ratio base

I mean it is a "how long is a piece of string" type of scenario
the strength of flavourings varies in concentration, plus personal preferences to taste etc.....

In general 10% is a fair rough ball park starting point and won't throw things out too much
some people like 15% or even 20% but flavourings vary in their concentration/strength
plus some flavours might make your piss stink :D

I wouldn't worry too much just mixing up a 10ml tester bottle
if you go nuts and it is too strong, then dilute it a bit more with more base
if too weak add some more - all trial & error and part of the fun

I picked up some small blunt syringes from the local art supplies shop (in the calligraphy/ink section). They're only about 50p.

This also in every store I've looked at , buying the pg and vg separately you tend to get more bang for your buck , also 90//10 sounds high vg....
