EGO and Vivi won't screw into my Vamo

Hiya all

I've been having a problem with my Vamo for the last week or so in that suddenly my Vivi won't screw into my Vamo. At first I thought it was the Vivi but the next one suddenly did it as well. I've got two EGO-L's and until just now one would screw in and the other wouldn't, but now even that one has given up the ghost. I kind of assumed it was the thread on the Vamo so I ordered a new one a few days ago, but until that arrives, i'm reduced to holding my EGO/Vivi on the top to take a puff, how desperate can you get? And I can't see the new one arriving for at least another week!

Anyway, is this a common problem? Is there a solution or do these things just have a shelflife of a just a few months before the thread goes?

Thanks for any advice

Shelf life I'm afraid - as the vamo threads are brass they do wear out and particularly if you screw things down too tightly. You can buy an adapter to screw on that will do the job albeit make it a tad longer but at least it'll work. Failing that buy a new head from Stealthvape - pretty easy to put on too.

Cheers guys. I looked at the photos of it and it doesn't look like it just slots on top of the current one so i'm assuming, probably wrongly, that the one i've got comes off somehow?

Actually, scratch that, I just found a thread on how to replace it and it looks WAY beyond anything I could manage not to mention not having the tools for the job!

If yours is a stainless one then yes, the head is a pain in the arse to get off but the others aren't too bad. If soldering etc' is not your thing then I can understand but a cheap soldering iron from Maplins is cheaper than a new Vamo - remember though that you can get a small adaptor for a couple of quid that you'll probably have to force on and balls the threads up permanently but then you simply screw your attys onto the adaptor as normal. Something like this will do the job - http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Vaping-Spares/Accessories/Adapters.html

I'm useless with stuff like this and seeing as i've got a new Vamo on the way I just need something to tide me over. That link you gave me looks ideal so thanks for that, it's much appreciated. I'll do some research and find a mod that's a bit more robust and longer lasting, even if it costs a few bob more, seems better than paying out for a new one every few months!

Thanks again!

Just to add to the above, until new Vamo arrives (any day now its 11 days since despatch) i've taken to sticking my tank on top of the Vamo with tape. Not an ideal fix by any means but seeing as i'll only have to suffer it for a few days, it works a treat.
